Thanks, I thought that might be the case, but I was hoping that Dropbox would automatically update every time I change my basic FH Tree. It seems that this is impossible, unless, somehow, I have my main .ged file within Dropbox on the PC - is this possible? Jeremy

I can see how to 'export' the GEDCOM file, but there is no method of copying it, and therefore keeping it up to date with the PC version. Could you please advise further. Thanks, Jeremy

That would be useful! I can't at the moment see how to do that - can you advise please. I assume I would need to keep the main .ged file in Dropbox folder, with all the other files, images, census data, etc kept where they are. Jeremy

Thanks. I think I have to accept that I can only have the basic .ged file opened within Family Bee, and none of the media files. Also, I will have to remember to keep the .ged file on the Android manually updated, whereas I was hoping to have it updated automatically with any changes I made on the P...

I know there has been some talk about Dropbox and FH, but I can't find the answer to my problem. I have copied Family Historian Projects to my Dropbox folder on my PC. Now when I go to select my project within Dropbox on my HTC, I get 'No viewer available' - I choose download, one file is downloaded...

Drop Box follow up
Can someone tell me how to link Family Bee to the dropbox version of my FH Project. I am assuming that this would keep Family Bee totally up to date with my Desktop FH project.

Can someone remind, or tell me, how to have different multimedia images relating to the same source. For example, I have one source 'Ancestry Parish Records' (APR) and I can get a lot of citations to this, but I would like to have the relevant image attached to each one. Do I have to have lots of di...

So what about the Ipad ??
Let us not forget about the Android phones, which are getting ever more popular. My own phone is an HTC Desire and I use Family Bee, which is good but does not give you the link to the media items included within FH.

Relationships
When you sort on 'Relationship to Root' it sorts alphabetically i.e. 1st cousin comes top of the list. Is there any way to sort according to the closeness of the relationship?? This would show Father first, then grandfathers etc.

Or - what about the HTC Desire. Does anyone know of any apps for this, with any recommendations?

Flags
I had a similar problem, but discovered that AS had created flags as '1901 UK Census' whereas my previous flags were just '1901 Census'. I deleted the old flags, re linked the same icons as before, and now have no problem. Hope this helps, Jeremy

Is it possible to add a sister, found from say a census, without knowing either of the parents? Jeremy

En bloc Import to Media Folder
To continue - SOME, not all, of my files were moved into the project folder. My assumption is that those not moved did not have a link. I can cope with that. I have tried to re-map a group of files using work with external file links, and ALL of them now have a cross, to show the link is broken!! Co...

This thread has made me look more closely at my directory structure. I find that before changing to the Project idea I had a number of folders under FH eg. Pictures; Census images; PDF files; Certificates, separated to Birth, death and marriage, etc etc. Now I look at the project directory they all ...

I have just loaded 3 censuses using Gedcom Census, for the first time since transferring to FH4, and moving my file to a project. Although I have used the same technique as before, no entries have been made and no flags have shown. What has changed?

I agree that my newly created custom queries are in D&S/Appl Data/ etc, but this does not overcome my backup problem. I would fully support Nick in saying it would be great if the backup file created on leaving FH also backed up the custom queries, reports, text schemes, diagrams etc currently save...

I have a rooted objection to being told by Bill Gates that all my files must be under his Documents & Settings. However, I now see that my queries, reports, icons etc are split between Doc & Settings, and my Family Historian folder under Program Files, some being in both, and some being only in one....
