Marine records
I have a couple of great uncles who served in the marines during the first world war and have photcopies of their marine records from Kew. I tried downloading the military fact set however it's not really what I wanted. All I want to do is attach a scanned copy of these records with a brief note as ...

Sources and citations
Thank you Mike, I was a bit concerned about the number of citations I would be creating, as some of my ancestors had approx. 18 children. When looking at the head of the family facts tab it is extremely long when you consider that each child has census, residence, birth, baptism etc. Have already di...

Sources and citations
I have just started to enter a huge amount of baptisms, marriages and burials. I am really lucky as a lot of my ancestors stayed in one place for generations. However, if I use sources and citations it will create hundreds! Would a better way be to use just facts? What would be the best way to tackl...

Twins
Was getting on really well with the twin icons. When it came to selecting one I thought I would use one of my own.
However, this didn't come out too well, and now I can't navigate back to the programs icon folder as I cannot find it anywhere. Feel a right twit!
Thanks
Jane

Twins
I have several sets of twins in my family tree and would like to see them displayed in my diagrams, I have had a look at the family historian help and it looks way to complicated for me to use expressions. Is there an easier way just to show twins?
Thanks

'Entry Date' in citations
I have been following William Clegg's advice about putting today's date into the citation entry box. Is it possible to change the one's I've done to the document date instead?
Thanks

Citations
I took your advice Mike and looked in the Family historian sample project and had a play around with the automatic source citation feature, it all worked well and I even managed to turn it off afterwards!
I already use AS census, marriage and baptism using method 1 for my data entry.

Citations
I think I understand Mike. It worked anyway! I navigated up one to my fathers property box, clicked on his fact tab and entered a new occpuation from the events/attributes list and then used existing source to find my birth certificate and linked to this. Having a pile of birth certificates to put i...
Citations
With help from the excellent on-screen tutorials about entering a birth certificate I have managed to create a source and attach the document to my self which shows up in the property box all good so far. I am embarrassed to say, that I can't for the life of me understand how to use the citations an...

Inventories as a source
Thanks Jane, I have been playing around with this and have managed to link the inventory media to him and his wife.
However, when I go to the sources in her property box her husbands name appears in the media tab under her name Is this correct?
Thanks

Inventories as a source
I have an inventory dated 1765 scanned to my computer. However, I'm not sure it would be a source or a multimedia. I have looked at 'Getting the most from family historian' and am none the wiser. If anyone could help me out here I would be very grateful.
Thanks

Old Bailey Records
Hoping someone could point me in the right direction as to where to look next for someone who appeared in the Old Bailey online records. My ancestor was supposed to have been transported for seven years in 1817 but I cannot find him in the convict ships. I'm now wondering if he was transported at al...
