Family Historian User Group

I've never thought of using the Name citation for anything really!
To me, it looks odd to have a death certificate to show up in the property box fact tab being used to seeing just the death, burial or probate dates.

I am creating a source for a marriage certificate for the brides father, however he was deceased. I just would like this to show as a fact. any ideas?

This is what I have done. Tools-Work with fact sets. When I drop down the Event/Attribute list the fact set is showing but it appears to be nothing in it. In my documents I have a folder named Family historian projects, clicking on this I have  folders Family historian sample projects, Janes family ...

I'm having a problem trying to import the Kinsfolk fact set. It's showing up in my fact sets after installing it however it appears to be a empty folder. [confused]

I went to my local family history centre again on Friday, reset my camera to Tungsten mode and tried again. I think the marriages came out quite well in terms of brightness and they were ok as I was just photographing the bottom half of the screen. To get the whole screen in though I had to sit well...

Mine came out a bit dark around the edges, and have had to lighten them up.

Looks like I will have to go back and do some of them again, any tips for the best results?

How did you invert the colours?

I would be happy with that too Valkrider, looks good to me, so took my camera and fiche down to my local family history centre and they allowed me to do this. I have had reasonable results. I used no flash and sat in the dark! lol[smile]

Has anyone had any success with the above on a flatbed scanner? I have a lot of fiche that I would like to be able to burn to a CD.

My folder for Birth Certificates is now showing up in the 'work with external file links' under projects. I clicked on the image I wanted moved, selected re-map and then selected 're-map within pro...

Yes I thought I had. I would like to be using projects as it keeps all the media/sources together.
What should I be doing to put this right?

Tried this Lorna, however my 'remap within project folder' is greyed out.

I made a new folder and called it Birth Certificates in the media file of family historian projects but it doesn't show up in the work with external file links. What am I doing wrong?

I have been following Jane's excellent youtube video on 'how to enter a birth certificate as a source' and noticed that she made a new folder for certificates in the project window rather than the default one. Hello Mike, I do mean the text from source box that I like to have floating. Strange thing I entered another source just in case this morning and it was fine. I have tried widening the property box and also clicked on the three little dots to the right of the scroll bar. All ok. Done a search about ...

Noticed that I'm now getting double line spacing in the text from source box when I go back into the source to view.

Wondered if anyone else has seen this, or is it just me?
