I've never thought of using the Name citation for anything really!
To me, it looks odd to have a death certificate to show up in the property box fact tab being used to seeing just the death, burial or probate dates.
Thanks
Jane

Re: Australian Death Certifcates
Thanks Mike, have created a fact called Death Certificate and linked the citations to this, with his date of death, it appears at the bottom of the fact tab on the property box and looks a little odd having this entry after his mothers death. Didn't like it under the name tab for the mother, as it d...

Australian Death Certifcates
I'm trying to input the above death certificate for someone who died in 1932 and have got into a bit of a bother! All is well until I get to the stage where the certificate gives name and surname of father (died 1908) and his mother (died 1871) maiden name (if known) I have added a occupation fact f...

Baptisms
I have started using AS for baptisms, using the Roses Act 1812 option using method 1 and after playing around with it I wondered if there was another way around what I would like to achieve. I know I am probably the only one who doesn't want to see too many facts all linked to the same source. LOL :...

Re: Died before marriage
Thank you both for your help. I use the AS for census returns however I like to know how to input my own sources and fact records within FH as well, so as to learn all about the program and what it has to offer. If I added a occupation fact for the Brides father as Labourer (deceased) on the date of...

This is what I have done. Tools-Work with fact sets. When I drop down the Event/Attribute list the fact set is showing but it appears to be nothing in it. In my documents I have a folder named Family historian projects, clicking on this I have folders Family historian sample projects, Janes family ...

I went to my local family history centre again on Friday, reset my camera to Tungsten mode and tried again. I think the marriages came out quite well in terms of brightness and they were ok as I was just photographing the bottom half of the screen. To get the whole screen in though I had to sit well...

Mine came out a bit dark around the edges, and have had to lighten them up.
Looks like I will have to go back and do some of them again, any tips for the best results?
How did you invert the colours?

I would be happy with that too Valkrider, looks good to me, so took my camera and fiche down to my local family history centre and they allowed me to do this. I have had reasonable results. I used no flash and sat in the dark! lol[smile]

Thanks for your help. I have managed to sort out my files and now they are showing as a Project file. I have been following Jane's excellent youtube video on 'how to enter a birth certificate as a source' and noticed that she made a new folder for certificates in the project window rather than the default one. I think it would be a good idea for me to do this,as I have a lot of sources, trouble is, ...

Hello Mike, I do mean the text from source box that I like to have floating. Strange thing I entered another source just in case this morning and it was fine. I have tried widening the property box and also clicked on the three little dots to the right of the scroll bar. All ok. Done a search about ...
