Newspapers fact
I've created a custom fact for Newspaper as I have a number of funeral reports and other articles to attach to FH. When I looked at the sentence underneath the property box it says 'he experienced newspaper on 7 March 1864 in the Standard' I know I can override the default sentences but as I have se...

Re: Deleting Role Name
What I want to achieve is that George is mentioned as her father on his daughters admission and a link to that fact. Maybe I shouldn't have used the witness Roll for this. Many thanks.

Deleting Role Name
I have just added the source attribute Education and thought I would try and use the witness option on the fact tab and try and create a new role, which I have done, however it didn't give me the results I wanted. When i tried to delete it the role is still showing?

Exporting Gedcom and Media Files to Rootsmagic
I'm trying to export part of my family tree to another member of the family who has recently shown an interest, she has Roots Magic free edition just to start with, and I've managed to export part of my tree into this, the problem is that we're not seeing the photographs, census images etc. How can ...

Exporting a Gedcom file to Family Search
I would like to export part of my family tree to Family Search, however I don't at this stage wish to include the photo's and documents that I have. Not sure just how to go about this? For instance, would I have to use the Split Tree Helper first or is there another way to get part of my tree upload...

Uninstalling AS
I haven't used the above for a couple of years or so, and was thinking of uninstalling it, but a bit concerned about the information I had previously entered. Would it be ok to do this? Thanks

Re: Back up and Restore
Thanks Mike, Sorry if I'm being a bit dim here but because I've used the Kinsfolk Fact Set on my old computer, will Family Historian automatically see the facts already entered using Kinsfolk in FH after I've downloaded it? Many Thanks

Back up and Restore
Just thought I would try installing Family Historian and the Project Files from my old laptop (Windows 7) to another laptop (Windows 10) in case my old laptop dies and also to make sure I understand just how to restore my project files. I've managed to reinstall the program and project files onto th...

Re: Multiple Source Images
Well no not really, the only reports I've done is the individual summary and the family group sheet!
I will probably try and use JPEGs for most of my documents if at all possible.

Re: Multiple Source Images
After having a little go with the various options I think I prefer to use PDF. I tried IrfanView >Image Menu>Create Panorama and this turned out quite well, although in the media source I found I did have to zoom it up to it's maximum whereas using the PDF was so much clearer and I can't think why I...

Re: Multiple Source Images
Trevor, Yes I did consider PDF files, and it would be a lot easier for me as my scanner software will convert JPEGs to PDF documents but i'm not sure if FH will support them. Thanks Mike, I've been playing around with IrfanView this evening and getting a bit stuck when I come to the close IrfanView ...

Multiple Source Images
I've been happily entering sources for the wills that I have and so far, they have only been one page images. Until now that is, I have a will that spans over four pages. I have created the source and attached the images as page one, two, etc. I don't like the way I have to click on each page hoping...

Re: Administrations as a source
Thanks Mike, The information I wish to add is an entry I found for my ancestor in the England and Wales National Probate Calendar, this gives date of death and when and where the admin was granted, :) as she didn't leave a will I just have the Administration with a date and place after her death. I ...

Administrations as a source
I hope someone can advise on the best way to handle an Administration. I already have the date of death so would it be best to just add a custom fact (not too sure how to adjust the sentence so I don't end up with 'she experienced' admin) attached to the date of death as I have quite a few of the ab...

Many thanks Mike, I've deleted the property box tabs for Military and Wills. When I go to Tools, Fact Types I still have death or burial1 showing as an attribute.
