Re: 1939 Register on Find My Past
It looks as if FMP have removed the reference Piece Number from the results. There must have been too many people using this method to see the names on a page

I have just received another 25% offer, it came with the FMP Fridays newsletter, so perhaps you need to subscribe to that to get the discount.

Hi Mike I don't know where to find the template, but here is a screenshot. Later Married Name just records names that were added after 1939 Occupation comments is for 'Heavy Work' or 'Light Work' which has been written in red, and added to the occupation field. Comments is for anything that appears ...

Re: 1939 Register on Find My Past
I forgot to mentio that I have created a new template on Ancestral Sources and am happy with the way it works. For those of you complaining about the price, I am sure that once they have recouped enough of their investment t will be added to the general subscription, but then I expect the subscripti...

Re: 1939 Register on Find My Past
As I have a FMP subscription I got 25% off a 5 household bundle. You get a transcription for the household first of all then when you look at the image you see everyone on the page. In two cases so far I have found other family members living in separate households on the same page. There are no rel...

Re: Import Microsoft Word
I have some pdf and Word documents that I would like to incorporate into a DVD. They are like narrative reports but with several images built into them.
Is there any way I can incorporate a narrative report that was created outside of FH?

Findmypast - no newspaper images
Is anyone else having problems seeing newspaper images in Findmypast? Since Saturday afternoon whenever I click to see an image it gives me an error message. I have reported it (twice) but had no acknowledgement.

Add Assessment to Citations for a Source
I used this to change 1911 census from secondary to primary and checked the overwrite existing assessments, but instead they have all changed to unreliable. I though I had made a mistake the first time but I repeated it and it has happened again.

Hi Mike
I changed the HOME page in IE and all working fine now. It never occurred to me to look in there as I haven't used it for years.

Re: Exporting Family Historian GEDCOMs
This has been posted before (but I can't find the link), use the plugin 'Export Gedcom File' and choose the FTM mode and export character code UTF8
No doubt someone will be able to provide an explanation

Re: Keeping the paper to support the digital
I found a link to a system via FHUG some years ago (can't remember the name of it) but I am still using a slightly modified version of it. I have a REALLY USEFUL plastic box which holds foolscap suspension files. I bought files in blue green red and yellow and plastic A4 wallets in the same colours ...

Re: Creating a Research to Do List
Hi Mike
I have downloaded the pre-defined downloads, but when I double click on them Windows 7 asks me to select a program to open them and FH is not there (I am using FH6.0.4) and I am trying to run them from the downloads folder

Re: Minor changes on this site
This screen no longer displays properly on my ipad, I assume that is because of the changes. Do you have any plans to make it appear properly on a tablet again?
