printing chart: B&W only and trim marks?
Trying to keep the print as simple as possible -is there a simple set up for just printing in black and white - and if so is there a way of putting trimming marks on the paper so as to make accurate aligning of the various parts - I realize a light background would do this but is there another way? ...

Re: Font size
Thanks so much - I've been reading the chapter looking at past answers most of the afternoon. That was a brilliant concise answer.

Font size
I've looked at previous answers to this- all very clear ( and read chapters 9 and 10 ) however still having a problem whilst I can change the font size of the "name" but if I try to change other items in "items used in this scheme" nothing happens. By this I mean I'd highlight "birth" and edit the f...

Re: Picture - how to remove?
As you will have gathered from my other basic questions I'm not that experienced with FH - I use it only to create charts. However with Mac OSX 10.7.5 running Parallels windows 7 - the normal deletion Key seems to work and the instance with deleting a pictures appear so far to be the only occasion i...

Re: Picture - how to remove?
Solved it! - selected as suggest then Edit > delete selected. However I would suggest caution in case you have selected more than one item and may delete more than you want.

Picture - how to remove?
I was experimenting putting a picture into a diagram - that worked - but how can I remove it? Yes I know it's an idiot's question but I've looked at the manual and can't see the answer - probably because it's so obvious -thanks

Marriage date showing for both spouses
Hi I've probably missed something, but on my diagram the marriage date is showing up on both partners. Is it possible to choose which partner it should be under?
I did import this tree originally as a gedcom file.

Re: borders or corner marks when printing
Thank you I should have put in the version, which is V.5. Unfortunately I do want to print with a white background and was hoping it would be possible to insert markers to indicate the sheet border.

Resizing a diagram to one page
Thanks to you both- first I tried re-sizing using the boundaries and it did indeed move and I got as far as having only one page break down the centre - I'm using windows 7 with parallels on a Mac - but this does seem very tricky -but fun. Then as I really wanted it as a PDF -to send to commercial p...

Thanks that's great - I've come to FH from years, off an on, with a previous prog and finding FH a delight.

chart - has colour on 'hidden' members.
I printed out a chart for the first time with certain members marked as 'hidden' . The next chart had these members 'unhidden' however their boxes had a blue background - is there a way to ensure the entire chart is B & W ?

Newbie - all duplicated?
Ah! the joys of walking before you can run : -) That's exactly what I did and obviously blundered it! However in this case I'm fortunate in that I was transferring data to a Mac running windows 7 but still have an unsullied version on the XP. I'll go more carefully in future. Thanks for the quick re...

Newbie - all duplicated?
Hi,
I'm using V.5 I went for a list of individuals and all appear as duplicated.
I originally imported the data as gedcom from another prog.
When I view a/diagram/chart the duplicates don't show.
It's a very small tree of only some 300 members.
Where have I gone wrong.?
