Re: Call to iPad Users
TeamViewer in particular has been a problem -- leaving it running causes the PC on which it is running or database applications thereon to freeze after a while (I've tried it on Windows 7 and Windows XP). On one occasion, it caused a database corruption (which was a bit of problem as it was the EPOS...

Re: Call to iPad Users
I'm very reluctant to recommend the option of 'remote control' of the home PC. It's a very flaky option in my experience.

Re: Centring the forum?
Mike, if you have multiple tabs open in the same browser, shrinking the browser size for a single site isn't very convenient. I've always been taught that keeping line lengths reasonable increases readability (because of the scanning end-to-end effect that you refer to). Most well-designed themes fo...

I'm immensely grateful for it in its current state, and am happy to wait for Nick to find more time to work on it as and when he can. After all, he can hardly be making a fortune from software he gives away! In the meantime, there's no data entry that I can't do using FH -- I just need to take a lit...

'buried affidavit made'?
'Made up from Visitation' is part of the incumbent of the parish indicating the period for which the records relate. The 'visitation' was when the bishop turned up (annually, usually) essentially to check that the parish was being properly run.

Even if the detailed citation formats in Evidence Explained are mostly US-centric, the first two chapters (on Evidence Analysis, and the Fundamentals of Citation) are excellent guides to working with sources, as is Shown Mills website at http://www.evidenceexplained.com . Sorry to correct you , Mike, but in Windows 8, the 'File History' facility is distinct from System Backup and needs to be turned on explicitly. Once it is, it works in the background.

Confused by GRO Index Entry
Perhaps Hyacinth had been married twice before, so came trailing a maiden name and two married names.

Ancestral Sources for 1911 census in Welsh
A forlorn hope probably but... Has anyone done the work for the 1911 census template to include the relevant Welsh words in the drop-down lists (relationship, marital status etc.). I have quite a number of census entries to input that were completed in Welsh, and I'd like the autotext function to g...

Chris, I should add that I'm grateful to you for taking this on. I'll go back and check on my votes in a day or so when the dust has settled. I did review all the items in your spreadsheet that you suggested closing for lack of interest and don't have a problem, except for a couple I've commented on...
