Multi-page images (that old chestnut)
As it isn't currently possible to include a (multi-page) PDF file as media and have it show up when generating a website, I thought I'd convert my multi-page PDFS to multi-page TIFFs; not ideal (very few browsers support the format) but better than dozens -- in some cases -- of single-page images. A...

Keir,
The gallery solution sounds interesting -- I'd love to explore it further.

I regularly get unwanted Skype contact requests and my username there isn't used anywhere else at all.... I assume somebody is using one of the tools you can buy on the 'dark net' to harvest Skype user names.

Is this not satisfied by configuring the FH backup location to be whichever cloud storage service you wish? (Mine's in Dropbox...)

Re: Windows 10
One thing to try (it seems to fix a multitude of Windows 10 sins) is: Run Windows Powershell as administrator -- search the menu for Powershell, right click and run as administrator In the window that opens type: sfc /scannow Have a coffee... It might report that no problems were found, but worth a ...

Re: Incorporating PDFs into project
Mike, There are a number of use cases for which the PDF document format makes sense -- I don't think it's as unusual as you think. 1. Multi-page sources where a PDF is much more convenient than multiple images. A simple example would be a will or a newspaper cutting that spans two or more pages; a m...

Tamura Jones said back in Oct 2011 that Tim "Tim has terminated the VGED project. Version 3.02 created last year is the last release." So probably not surprising Vged isn't available for download anymore... http://www.tamurajones.net/GEDCOMValidation.xhtml Not sure how good the Chronoplex validator ...

Re: Evidence Explained citations
I get by with just using the long title for the full footnote, and the short title for the source list entry. (I ignore author, publication and repository). If I wanted to store the short footnote, I'd probably just add a note field to the source. I'm wary of modifying the program to support a speci...

Re: AS v5 download problems
Ancestral Sources is a separate application, not a plug-in. There is a plug-in to launch it if you prefer not to launch it outside FH, but you need to download and install that plug-in separately.

Re: Improving the website name index layout
My use-case is quite specialised (it's going in a narrow region on the rh navigation region in a cms-based website) but it has highlighted the basic issues for use on mobile devices, I think. For small devices, left-aligned works best. Plus "centring is for wimps" :) according to http://www.amazon.c...

Improving the website name index layout
Has anyone given any thought to improving the layout of the web page produced by _nameindex.html ? (Trying to avoid re-inventing the wheel here). I know the "Improve website or CD DVD HTML" plugin can deliver better search/filter facilities and add alternate/married names, but I'm looking at the bas...

Probably the error described here: 10146|UTF-8 error . I agree -- fh-specific Lua library modules would be a significant step forward in reducing effort (by promoting re-use) and improving code readability/comprehension).
