changing file paths amp; saving gedcom
Hi, I have 2 questions that I feel I should know the answers to, but don't. First question is how to change the file paths for multimedia. Specifically, in the past I decided to put my multimedia on a CD and the file path was therefore D:(folderpicture name....) Now I want to keep my pictures in my ...

Source pane positioning
Thanks for that - I have got the property box floatiing now and can have sources showing in full. This suits me nicely as I have worked out how to open the box easily from the toolbar when navigating round the focus window so I only need to keep it open when I have something to input on a specific p...

Source pane positioning
I, too, am having this problem but if I have the source pane at the bottom I can't see it without scrolling. Even if it is on the right then I still have to scroll sideways - is this the same for everyone or do I not see as much on screen because I don't have a widescreen monitor? I am not finding i...

V4 nbsp;- upside down text
At first I couldn't install the upgrade then when the fix was in place I could - but then my place names were all upside-down. Simon told me about the resolution and colour quality changes that could help but I don't like fiddling with my computer so to start with I decided to use a restore point an...

What a mess - now I can't open any version of Family Historian as it has taken the new registration code on board but not the program.

I went to the download page and have paid for my upgrade but I am still waiting for the email to confirm and tell me how to download - did anyone else have to wait? It has been over half an hour and I thought I would get it straight away

Genes Reunited hot matches
Thanks you so much - I knew I had seen it somewhere! I have found some lovely cousins through Genes but can't spend hours wading through all the non-matches. Now to sort it all out............
Thanks again, Heather

Genes Reunited hot matches
I seem to remember some time ago a posting on the Rootsweb lists about a method of keeping the Genes Reunited monthly 'hot matches' down to the most likely rather than having pages and pages of single ones that weren't correct. Can anyone point me in the right direction to that posting please? ID:2380

Custom Tree Splitter
Thank you so much - I have tried the split tree helper several times and found wives disappear as they aren't direct descendants but this method preserves families intact but only as far down the tree as wanted - couldn't be better!

protege
Does anyone know if a 'protege' on the 1891 census is someone unnoficially adopted? My husband's grandmother was born in London in 1884 but was in Kent with an unknown (to us) family in 1891. There is no father on her birth certificate so is it likely her mother gave her up? We can't trace the mothe...
