Omnidirectional Query Syntax
OK, but those are both rather techie, clunky, workarounds in my view. Far better to have a decent query syntax that can do it in one step in the first place .... No?

Omnidirectional Query Syntax
At the moment the query syntax appears to be uni-directional in respect of the gedcom tree structure; for example, I can start at an Individual, find all their Source Records, and for each Source Record, list all the Multimedia records. But FH queries cannot do it the other way round; e.g. for a giv...

Maiden name in family events in narrative reports
Ideally this request should be generalised to something like: Allow all functions/data references to be used anywhere in sentence templates, report and diagram headings etc. ... and the title amended acordingly; that way it will cover all reqests of this nature, rather than the particular case cited...

Linked files e.g web pages
You can make the dynamic link in one of two ways: - Linked (i.e. tick 'Linked' as described in the OP), in which case you'll get a message dialogue from the 'Packager' ( a Windows utility which I assume FH is invoking, don't know why) asking if you want to open the file (the html stub). Click 'Yes' ...

Linked files e.g web pages
... i.e. make it link out to the live webpage, though it takes a little additional manual intervention. Rather than saving a copy of the entire webpage (whether Complete or Archive), create an html stub in an FH [sub-]directory as follows: Obviously you'll need to replace the URL contained within my...

'Record Links' to highlight the actual link
When selecting a record and pressing 'Go to' in the 'Record Links' dialogue, I would like it to open up the selected record and highlight the [first] reference in the structure of the target record, rather than simply going to the record. It can be pretty time consuming ploughing through an extensi...

=RecordType() function required
I would like to see a function that returned the Type of a record (e.g. Source, Individual, Repository, etc etc) to complement the =RecordName() function in queries. It would make it easier to identify what record types were being looked at in printed output from some queries (e.g. the 'Media linke...

Odd behaviour in Multimedia Records window
Further information: I've just tried to maintain a second pdf file MM record in the Multimedia Records window, and this is showing similar, but not identical, behaviour. This is openeing the folder for the aforementioned pdf file, rather than the correct folder for the file path in the link! [tongue]

Odd behaviour in Multimedia Records window
Whilst carrying out some extensive houskeeping on my gedcom, I've hit this odd behaviour which looks like a bug to me. I had a Multimedia record which pointed to a .pdf file. When I expanded the record and clicked on the [...] button to open up the 'Select File' dialogue window, instead of opening u...

Gedcom Census 5.4 installation error
When installing the latest version of Gedcom Census, I got the following error message: 'C:WINDOWSsystem32msvbvm60.dll The existing file is marked as read-only. Click Retry to remove the read-only attribute and try again, Ignore to skip this file, or Abort to cancel installation.' I clicked 'Retry' ...

Move items between Named Lists retaining the Note
I would like the ability to move items from one Named List to another (by cut/paste and/or drag/drop) and to retain the Item Note across the move. For example, I have two lists 'Certs Needed' and 'Certs Ordered'. I place an individual on the first list with a note describing the GRO reference(s) of...

Bulk source citation in downloaded gedcom
Duh! How did I miss that? Thanks, Jane. PS 'Why would you want to do that?' I think I didn't explain myself well - I had missed the fact that Merge would both create the new source and add all the citations - I thought I had to do all that manually ... I should have known (and read) better ... I did...

Bulk source citation in downloaded gedcom
I've found some likely looking extensions to my family tree on ancestry.co.uk, and have downloaded the appropriate ancestry and descendancy gedcom files. I want to merge these together, and with a copy of my own research, but I want to add a source record to all the new information to show it came f...

Index qualifiers
It would be very useful to support either:
ID:1620
- [year=['parameter']]]
- [year=any ] ... matches ['parameter']
ID:1620

Show Icons based on existence of event/attribute
In fact, an ExistenceCheck that could be used more generally - e.g. in queries for Attributes and/or Events - and could be parameterised - e.g. IfExists(%INDI.CENS[year=%{'yearparam']%) or similar - would be extremely helpful.
