Finding A Death
Yes, Freebmd has a facility to specify either the age or date of birth. Details on:
http://www.freebmd.org.uk/search-help.shtml
It will only work for births after 1st Jan 1866 when the age at death was included in the indexes.

Editing a family tree CD
Just a thought but are you using CD that can only be written to once? That would explain why you can't save the changes.
If that is the case then perhaps you should save the web site to your hard disk, then edit it and only write it to CD when you have made all the changes you want.

Diagrams - Autosize Box and No Word Wrap
Is it possible, please, to create a diagram format (is that the correct term?) that autosizes the boxes so that there is no word wrap?

organizing files on hard drive
For what its worth, I add a flag to everyone for whom I have a Birth/Marriage/Death Certificate or a copy of a baptism/marriage/burial entry in a parish register. I have added a condition in the Boxes tab of the Diagram Options so that these flags display and it very quickly shows which certificates...

Things I'd like to see
I have sent numerous corrections to FreeBMD and have always had a courteous reply. Dont forget that all the people involved are volunteers. Although the search on FreeBMD is currently slow (because of its popularity) the presentation of results is clear and its free! Also, I notice that the databas...

';Full Age'; and Minor
It would be useful if I could input 'Full Age' or Minor' against the husband and wife in a marriage entry when entering details from a Marriage Certificate where the actual ages are not given. When I tried to do it using Add Husband's Age etc FH would not accept my entry - unless there is another wa...

Gedcom Census v6.0.6
I have downloaded the latest version of Gedcom Census and very good it is too - thank you Nick for your continuing work to improve this great piece of software. Just two small points - when I click the save button, 2 messages flash up on the screen very quickly - too quickly for my aging eyes to rea...

Is there a way to increase (or decrease) the font size or to change to displayed font in the Properties Dialog?

1851 England Census - Unknown Occupation
Thanks for the link. I should have mentioned that the person is male and in the Chatham Workhouse. There doesn't seem to be anything on the same page that helps identify the first letter but I could look at the pages before and after to see if they can help.

1851 England Census - Unknown Occupation
I am hoping that someone might be able tell me what the occupation is on the last line of the entry under 'Rank, Profession or Occupation'. The two entries above it are 'General Servant' and 'Cook'. (The ennumerator wrote a stroke that looks like an 's' at the end of words.) http://www.fhug.org.uk/i...

Census Record Summary By Household
If you save it as an Excel Template you don't have to make it read only and it will always be available.
