Sue,
You need to display the Multimedia tab, as follows:
Click on View>Record Lists>Multimedia
Then right click on the column header and you will get the short menu, including 'Configure Columns...' OR click on a blank space in the records for a similar menu.

Helen,
Many thanks for your trouble. I can now load the macro but I get a run time error when the macro asks for the file to load. I suspect that the macro may be using a command that older versions of Excel don't recognise.

Jane,
Thanks. That's what I tried so maybe it won't work in older versions of Excel.

I am using Excel 2000 and renamed the .xlsm file as instructed. However, when I try to load it into Excel I get an error message: 'This file is not in a recognisable format'. Is there a workround?

Version 4 Upgrade
Re the recent announcement about the release date for Version 4, it would be better to wait a few weeks so that any bugs can be ironed out rather than rush the release.
Having said that, it would be great if I could get it for my birthday at the end of April!!!
Keep up the good work, Simon.

Multimedia report
I think there may be a problem using the Individual Multimedia Report. It appears to show only multimedia directly linked to the person and not multimedia that are linked via sources, which most of mine are.

How to create a ';To do '; list in FH
Not directly at present, I think. But you could create a series of flags - such as FindBaptism/CheckPoorLawRecords/Findin1891Census etc etc and use these to create ToDo Lists.

You need to create a second 'Unknown spouse' for the mother and move the child with the unknown father to the new 'family'. First unlink the child from the first set of parents and then go to the new parents and add the child - 'Link Existing Record as Child' FH allows you to specify the status of r...

Simon, could I ask why you are sticking so ridgedly with Gedcom 5.5 and not allowing any 5.5.1 support at all.

Shouldn't you wait until the spec for v4 is published before launching into criticism? Or do you know something the rest of us don't?

Jan, Save the report in .rtf format by clicking on 'Save Report As...' on the right hand side of the report and selecting 'Word-Processor Document (RTF)...' in the menu and saving it. Then load it into your usual word processor - Word/Wordpad/Works/Open Office or whatever you have. If you double-cli...

Jennifer,
What diagram are you using?
Have you tried selecting the Father of the two girls and then displaying the Descendant diagram (Click View>Standard Diagrams>Descendants OR Click the button on the tool bar 'View descendants')?

David,
You do realise that there are no deaths on IGI so you would have to see the burial register for the parish (or a transcript) to check if the first child died.

If I understand you correctly you are using one flag to mean two different things - that the census details have been added via GCC and also that the Census information still needs to be added. If that is the case wouldn't it be better to use a different flag to show that the census data is still re...

I find that if you don't put anything in the Short Title field then the next time the file is opened the Short Title has disappeared. Is this a deliberate action on the part of Family Historian? Anyway, it seems to be a simple solution to what is required - just ignore it!
