Plugin: Check for Unlinked Media
johnmorrisoniom said: As an aside to this. I always edit my media in a separate location to my projects, before copying them into a project. If you work this way with picassa, you will not get the problem with the thumbnails in your project (which also increase the size of what's in the folders). T...

Thank you very much, Tatewise, that works a treat.

I am using Version 3.9.16.37 for Mac. Having carried out a little experimentation it appears that this version of Picasa will always create a folder called '.picasaoringinals' within the folder holding the image being edited. (I renamed the original folder but Picasa just created a new folder.) This...

I wonder if some kind person who is familiar with Lua programming could advise me how I could amend Jane's excellent plugin. I would like the search to exclude any folders called '.picasaoriginals' but don't know what code to use or where to put it!

Query Window
According to the Help file Query Windows are not re-used but doesn't say that only one is permitted. So, if a Query Window is opened by a plugin (I was using the 'Check for Unlinked Media' plugin) not only can the window not be locked (as expected) but the menu option to open a Query Window just bri...

I have added a note to the page for this plugin on the Family Historian site asking if it is possible to amend the plugin to exclude the folders created by Picasa. At the moment all the Picasa thumbnails show up as unlinked media, which completely swamps the actual unlinked media. Would anyone else ...

You can just add it as an additional name field. I type it as, for example:
Dovid // b. Hirsch
so that the patronymic doesn't appear as a surname. I use 'b.' to stand for bar, bat or ben, the context showing the correct interpretation.

A quick way to find them at the moment is to search in the Knowledge base for youtube.
I have also added my Videos and Calico Pie's new videos to a playlist on my Channel.

Great videos!
I would find it helpful if all the available videos wherever they are located were listed with links in one place on the FHUG web site.

Graham,
I am very grateful. Thanks very much. Yes, I think I will buy the CD as it will provide a broader picture of the RE's activities.

Mike, Thanks for all your hard work on this study, as well, of course, in writing the programs and plugins in the first place. Although I run FH on an iMac with an emulator (Parallels), the main impact seems to be the amount of memory rather than the processor speed. Would that be a fair conclusion?...
