Reference numbers on diagrams

Thanks for that Jane.

Still don't understand why some people have them and other don't. If I've got to add them manually its going to take me a long time to check through everyone.[frown]

Reference numbers on diagrams

I'm using this:

%INDI.REFN%
%INDI.NAME:PREFERRED%
{picture}
=LifeDates(%INDI%)

Tried changing to =recordid() but that just given the record number, not the custom ID, which is what I'm after (I've got a prefix that I want to retain). What determines whether someone gets a REFN?

Reference numbers on diagrams

I'm trying to display the FH reference numbers for each person on the All Relatives diagram. I have modified the templates for all the box types, and refreshed the diagram but the numbers only appear on some of the boxes. For example I have Susannah [Ref no 34]. Her father has a reference [35] but n...

Certified copies - a warning

It seems the service from the various local offices varies widely. A friend of mine has ordered several certificates from Keighley, and they have been superb. On one of the certificates I ordered the registration date was given as 8 years before the birth. I returned it and got a replacement, which ...

Certified copies - a warning

I've recently ordered quite a few 'certified copies' of certificates from local records offices. Whilst most have been excellent, I have had real problems with Bournemouth. On one certificate the year contained 8 digits! They only seem to issue typed transcripts rather than photocopies of the origin...

Occupation events being corrupted

Yes. I think on some of my records I entered the first occupation through the main tab, and subsequent occupations by adding occupation events. I've now changed the way I work so that apart from the namke I now enter everything by explicitly adding new events. Not had any problems since doing this. ...

Occupation events being corrupted

Thanks Jane. I've now upgraded to 2.3.5 and am keeping a close eye on things. If I see it happening again I'll try and focus in on what actions may be provoking it.

Occupation events being corrupted

All of the data has been entered fresh into FH. I haven't processed the GEDCOM file using anything other than FH. I have about 150 records in the file (of which probably about 50-60 have occupation events), and only 6 of them have been affected in this way. I have noticed this previously but put it ...

Occupation events being corrupted

I've noticed that a few of my records have corrupt Occupation events. By this I mean that I have entered more than one Occupation event, and on subsequent viewing, two of the events have been combined with the Occupation from one event appearing in the Place field of the other entry. The original Ev...
