Re: Media and addresses / Places
Hi Lorna, Thanks for the tip...i knew it would be simple. However, it does seem odd that I won't be able to access/see the media from an individuals properties box as that seems to defeat the object of being able to link it as a one time effort in the first place....so is there maybe a reason that I...

Re: Family Historian won't load
Hi Mike, thanks for the reminder - version duly updated! I think I updated to 6.2.6 about 7-10 days ago and have been using the programme extensively since without problem until today. With imperfect timing I had a spring clean of the PC before Xmas and got rid of a whole load of downloaded programm...

Re: Family Historian won't load
Hi RFJ,
that would be great, thanks.
Ref reinstallation, if we go down that road I think I might have the same problem as you as my initials disc purchase was v.2.1.6 !!!!

Re: Family Historian won't load
Hi Folks, Just tried to use FH and having the same issue as above i.e it won't start. It's been working fine over recent days (last used successfully for long periods over last weekend). Re: V6 upgrade: Lost all media links
Thank for the info. I'm wondering whether the problem might have been caused by the file structure. Currently my FH file structure for my ancestor photos is as follows: 1) Hard drive 2) My Documents folder 3) 'Family Historian Projects' folder 4) 'Family name' folder 5) 'Family name'.fh_data folder ...

Re: V6 upgrade: Lost all media links
Hi Mike,
my base version is FH 2.1.6 and I'd gone through various upgrades to 5.x before this upgrade to v6.
I didn't specifically check work with External File Links before upgrade and I didn't take a back-up before upgrading (doh!).
Nige.

V6 upgrade: Lost all media links
Hi All, I have just upgraded to version 6 (looks really cool and so am looking forward to using it properly). :D However, during the upgrade the links to all of my media have disappeared. My media folder resides in the same place and so not sure what's happened or how i fix it (short of going back t...

Flags and sources
Hi All, OK, sorrrry but this I feel may be 'stupid question time' !! Could some kind soul please take pity and explain to me the purpose of Flags and Icons in relation to Sources? I've been reading the threads, but can't really find a basic explanation, overview advantages etc anywhere. Apologies fo...

Source Images
Thanks for all the help....very useful. I have started using Ancestral Sources and am very impressed by the way it handles the details. A quick question for you though ref the 1911 census: 1) The 1911 census has the detailed page that contains the specific info on the family, whereas the Schedule pa...

Source Images
Hi All, It's been a while since I've done any research, but am now picking up the thread again. I've been a user of FH for a good while now but only ever in its basic functions. However, I would now like to start adding images of the sources (census, birth death, baptism records etc) into the progra...

General research
I sometimes complete one-name-searches from the GRO records for future reference and would like to be able to record such generic surname information within FH, but can't seem to find any area suitable for its recording. Can anyone offer any advice, as if not I'll post it to the Wish List as an idea...

Things To Do
Hi Folks, I have been looking but can't seem to find any functionality that acts as a 'Things To Do' (TTD) list. You can obviously enter TTD's against the individuals, but once you get a big tree its difficult to remember where these are. So, is anyone aware of anything within FH that allows TTD to ...
