Individual Properties, Spouse Citation missing
I set source and citation for an individual who happens to be a female spouse. When I view that individual the source and citation show in the sources yellow window. When I make the male the active person the sources and citations do not show for the spouse when birth etc. are selected by mouse. i.e...

Adding ToDo tab as per instructions
Incredibly useful, concise and clearly written. This should save a lot of questions (providing of course it can be easily found). Perhaps it should be in a more important and prominent place, perhaps a 'sticky' on the forum. One thought for consideration... I ALWAYS move My Documents to another driv...

Queries for Notes
A mine of valuable information. That is very clear and answers a lot, thank you for the time. Just as an aside I have just experimented and found that the photograph Face feature is useful if used with a Source Photo of BMD records to pick out the person referred to, assuming I had no other way of h...

Queries for Notes
Thank you again. I did follow the correct path (Family etc) but I came unstuck with Note. There are a bewildering number of them in the tree. Under Note it is possible to find endless levels all headed 'Note' as they get deeper and deeper. Some produce i.e. %FAM.NOTE.SOUR2% and some %FAM.NOTE>SOUR2%...

Queries for Notes
Having produced my data in two time separated stages I find I would rather have not done certain things (heard that before?). I am trying to create a Query based on finding all Marriage Notes (as attached to Status & Note) so that I may delete them. I have found Status under Misc for the Add If Expr...

Adding ToDo tab as per instructions
Well it seems like good news all the way!
I am one of the people that upgrades anyway, not that there may be any need, but so as not to get left behind.
I upgraded from V3 to V4 & V4.1.3 and have to key in two sets of serials, I guess now it will be three.
I promise to read your article.
Thank you.

Adding ToDo tab as per instructions
Thank you very much for that pre-emptive strike. I was about to ask about that, but was unsure whether it had already been answered in a roundabout way and so was cautious. Everything works as advertised, and I thank 'the usual suspects' for their patience and guidance. I hope that along with reload...

Thank you for that. One final question... Is it possible instead of the final option to add column to the Record Window Create Custom Column This technique adds one or more Columns to the Individual Records Window to identify To Do entries. Open the Individual Records Window and use Lists > Configur...

That is deeply philosophical and reassuring. However, I think a question is stupid if the answer is obvious, but if the answer 'should' be obvious then I agree with you.

Adding ToDo tab as per instructions
There is one instruction that I could not follow, despite the rest of it working OK. To exclude this Attribute from Reports, open the Report Options > Contents tab, under Individual Events/Attributes select Exclude List, click the Edit List button, and add the Attribute named To Do to the list. The ...

Adding ToDo tab as per instructions
Thank you. I did untick the box for the list but I read the instruction select literally (because I did not scroll down the list) and selected because it is shown with the when it arrives in the right hand column, and then was looking for a way to edit it. For some reason the was not visible at the ...

Adding ToDo tab as per instructions
I am attempting to have a todo list attached to each individual but 'gathered' into a master list. I have found... http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=how_to:create_work_in_progress_or_research_to_do_lists but get stuck. I have created the custom tab but in trying to add the custom attribute, th...

Are Flags, Place Lists etc. universal or project
Thank you for the additional useful assistance. Finding answers sometimes 'seems' not to be intuitive especially when some other knowledge 'seems' to be needed first to show the path. I believe that to be the 'experience' and knowledge of those that have gone before me, possibly encountering similar...

Bother with flags
Thank you very much for that enlightening comment. The difficulty I believe, was deciding what to look up and where. Having made a decision to use the Help file under the Help>FH Help and not finding the answer, then trying the How To's then trying 'Getting the most...' and failing, then with hindsi...

Are Flags, Place Lists etc. universal or project
If I add places or religions or flags, are they universal across all projects or are they saved per project, or is it a choice?
Thank you.

That did not work and the file was in the right place but I must apologise for my aged memory. I clearly forgot that in Diagram-options-boxes; despite already having a 'condition' entry for Record flags in the list, I still had to add the condition again in order to then add a single flag. I am afra...

I have about 16 flags. They all show in Edit>Flags. They all show in Tools> work with lists & flags and are set to always show in lists.[EDIT] also in columns in record window. Half of them (those from a past time) did not show in the diagram>options>boxes to allow icons to be linked. I went to the ...

Thank you for that enlightenment. I did not realise they were not in the FH even though they appear every time I start up.
I thank you for the excellent suggestion of a dummy to hold flags.
Sorry to have bothered you through lack of reading.

Hello both. Thank you for the ongoing interest. I must say that from the above posts Nick has it right as described. It should be noted that I have two sub projects in one folder, which I believe is acceptable based on the comment that Calico did not specify the containing folder. Just for clarity I...

I note that FH flags only appear as a choice in AS (when assigning flag names) if that flag has been assigned to at least one person in FH. If that flag is removed from that person then the flag disappears from the choice dialog in AS but the previous assignment does remain in the dialog window. I m...

Thank you again for continued assistance. You have solved the problem but... The outer project folder shown XXX by tatewise was in fact YYYXXX. Thank you. As I explained I did both of those things but only the GED in the project data directory worked. My concern was that by accepting that situation and proceeding I might be messing up the PROJECT part of the Gedcom, since there must be some reason for not normally, simply always opening the...
