There are so many options it is difficult to know how to use them all. That is not a complaint!

I have the focus window and the multimedia window and the property box (even when floating) the latter disappears when I click the multimedia window (it didn't go behind). I am a little confused, is there a link that can be undone? I may wish to see the property window at the same time and I cannot ...

Thanks again for the answers but they didn't quite solve the problem, however I have only just discovered 'Float' the property box, which of course does solve it and now I can have it as big as I like on a second screen. I so far believed that everything was contained in the outer window.

I have the Multimedia Window showing and on the right I have a Multimedia Object pane which can be changed by the double arrow above, to the individual pane. The information and thumbnail in the former appear to be simply duplication of the left hand side of the window. Can somebody enlighten me ple...

Thanks, but that doesn't solve the cramping when I need to see all. I feel there is too much in the one pane.
I need the sources as well but bigger without losing the other stuff.

In the Focus view is there a way to separate, say, the 'Sources for' section into another window?
The right hand panel being shared by sliding, and thus cramping is becoming a nuisance.

Thank you for that suggestion. I think with that possibility it would be safe for me to experiment on a copy of my data. I was concerned that something would go wrong and I might get some double linking or destroy the link I thought I had.

Is there no way to do this by a bodge into the gedcom text file, since the copied data appears to be complete?
This would really assist me after having set up a system as a beginner and realised too late that there were better ways.

Just been studying the files involved in this, to experiment. Everything seems fine until the INDI file. I cannot seem to grasp where the definitions came from or how they have been generated, because they don't appear in the Data Reference list. e.g. Item13=CUSTOM-'Marks/Scars',Y,'INDI._ATTR-MARKSS...

If I have two projects open is it possible to take a copy of a person and their details in one go and put it into the other project please?

I am thinking of restarting my project but don't wish to re-key a lot of data that is correct.

Have just forgotten to save the Census entry data and found that it didn't update everything with FH4. (It will happen again so...)
It would be nice if the data could be reloaded from the log file which has a perfect copy.

Problem solved!
The trial is 14 days from signup and working.
The problem seems to be thyat it didn't like Firefox browser, IE works OK.
