Electoral Roll - Dates Taken
I'm trying to pin down when my grandparents moved from Letchworth to Welwyn Garden City. From Find My Past I have them in the Spring 1926 Electoral Roll in Letchworth, and then in 1927 in WGC (no Spring or Autumn given). Does anyone know more precise dates when these electoral rolls where taken, or ...

Re: Find Census Information to enter into Ancestral Sources
On Ancestry they show the Reference, Folio etc numbers on the index/transcription page, down towards the bottom eg: "Source Citation The National Archives of the UK (TNA); Kew, Surrey, England; Class: RG12; Piece: 157; Folio: 69; Page: 37" I just copy the section Class.......37 and paste it into Anc...

@Mike Did you ever manage to work out what the synchronisation rules are for OneDrive? eg. does a newer file always overwrite an older file, regardless of direction, size, read-only, and which file date does it use (created, modified, accessed) if a file exists on one device but not on the other de...

Re: Find and Replace for in Source Notes
You could always edit your ged file with a text editor (eg Notepad), and use the replace function there. Of course you'd have to be careful if you have the 'Have Image' text anywhere else.

Re: Join Two projects
Make a copy of your main project first, and check that it opens ok. Then if things go really wrong with the merge and you can't easily backtrack, then you can just delete that main project and replace it with the good copy. I always do this before doing any sort of merge, as even an apparently simpl...

PS - if you want to delete lots, select all of them then Edit...Add to Named List . Then from the Named List window you can delete all of the contents of that named list: right click on the name of the list and select Delete Listed Records. Re: Problem upgrading to version 6.2.7
Mike, part of the discussion was about the Start Icon for FH, which is why I thought I'd add this tidbit. I use it all the time now when starting FH to get me quickly to the person of interest, and I often add a new temporary icon if I'm doing a lot of work around one individual. Feel free to delete...

Try the Individual Summary Report (for Web or CD), under Miscellaneous Reports. When the select Record window appears select all of the people you want (or use the >> to select all of them). Re: 1939 Register - finding an enumeration district
David2416, Excellent, thank you for that. FMP must have done a better job of indexing, Ancestry definitely didn't find it. Just as well I didn't start manually searching from the top of the ED list, DPOJ is well down the list! Mike, Yes I did try Anstee on it's own, and tinkered with wildcards, no l...

1939 Register - finding an enumeration district
I'm trying to find out who was living in a particular road in the 1939 register - Anstee Road, Luton, Bedfordshire. In LutonMB there are about 115 enumeration districts, but the header page image for each ED doesn't list the roads that it covers (unlike the census returns). The Luton EDs run from DP...

Quite a good selection of maps here http://mapco.net/london.htm Scroll down then select one, most of them are zoomable (with some maps it first shows an area map, but then scroll down to see it sectioned and you can click to view that section expanded). In many parts the boundaries and names kept ch...

So for these documents there shouldn't be any problem for the OS in determining the display area required and to be able to scale the document to fit the actual display space available eg A4. Another alternative, that I've been using for a while now, is to create a flag (say GoTo) which I can set for individuals I'm currently working on. I mostly work from diagrams, so I use the Edit...Record Flags menu to set or remove the flags. It's easy to select a number of individuals in the diagra...

Please email admin@fhug.org.uk with the error shown above." I think it should be this: https://github.com/...

Also Online Parish Clerks websites can be very useful for area specific research, for example http://www.opcdorset.org/index.htm for Dorset.
If you google "Online Parish Clerks" you'll find quite a few and many of them are free to use.

Theres a handy tool for checking path lengths here: https://github.com/deadlydog/PathLengthChecker/releases (I've just redownloaded it and checked it - no nasties). I've now found a few people in the Ancestry images who don't appear in any shape or form in either the Ancestry or FMP indexes. The details in the images are not, to my mind, indecipherable, so I don't know why they have been missed. I ended up finding the people in a local directory for 1939, noted...

Have you seen this information in the FH Knowledge Base (and the links at the bottom of that page where it covers converting Notes) -
how_to:import_from_roots_magic|> Import from RootsMagic (RM)
and be aware that the trial version of FH doesn't support plugins.
