Working With Queries

Didn't realize that sort of thing was possible in version 3. Will give it a try later this morning.

That's what I love about Family Historian. I've been using it for 5 years and am still learning new things about it.

Working With Queries

Ok so far so good but I have hit a problem I first ran the query described above i.e excluding the females and found 367 such marriages. I then decided to check and run the same query this time excluding the males and got 395 marriages. Now a lot of these descendents married 2 or three times and it ...

Working With Queries

Now why couldn't I think of something as easy as that[confused]

Sometimes you can get so involved in these things that you miss the simplest and most obvious solutions.

Thank you both very much indeed[smile]

Working With Queries

Thanks Lorna. you were almost right but I needed to include just those who had a spouse with a custom ID and i did that by using INDI.~SPOU[1]>REFN[1]. Works very well but i think i could improve it more. As I said earlier each descendent of The Electress has a Custom ID so when I now run the query ...

Backing up a project

I always back up my projects not only on a hard drive but also create copies onto a memory stick. However recently I had a hard drive replaced and therefore had to reinstall The family historian programme. I used the gedcom fle on my memory stick and all was well except that I lost all the custom qu...

Sorted that out as well , had to edit one of the text schemes to display it.

Not used FH for a few months and its surprising how quickly you forget things.

Many thanks anyway.

I have been having a major sort out on my PC rearanging all my pictures (not FH ones) and thus broken the links to the icons. will have to remake all of them. so having sorted that out I also use a custom ID for all my entries That used to disp...

User Defined Fields

Using Custom IDs and various flags I have been able to create a list people in line to the thrown. What I would like ...

Formating Reports

Thanks Jane,

Is there anyway of ommitting the spouse information altogether so the report would look like.

1. Electress Sophia (XXXX-XXXX)
1.1 George I of Hanover (1660-1672)

That would considerably shorten my report
