I also adopt the generation at a time method, and since I started when I was 15 years old, I have been at it for 37 years, I now have all 32 3* and 40 of the 64 4*, it is now getting difficult to say the least !! I have a few families that go back further than my 4*, but my oldest confirmed entry wa...

Census CDs
Better value to subscribe to ancestry.co.uk, you can then see unlimited views of any census and lots more besides. I am not quite sure about paying someone to search on EBay, as I think this may breach copyright on the census CD's. I know I printed a small booklet about the 1881 census for my villa...

Version 3 on the way?
Yes, I had a similar email when I asked for an update as they had charged my card already, saying that he was starting early to process orders because of the volume he has to process, and to save time when they do get the CD's. So hopefully, it will soon be on its way

User Defined Tags
Hi, Thanks for your imput, and Yes, I have several options available, including notes, which as I said, I would rather not use, I would prefer a tag, that would not be stripped out as unwanted notes field in conversion to html (For privacy). It would be very nice if the option 'Reference' appeared o...

User Defined Tags
It would be good if you could add user defined tags. Yes, I know you can add user defined attributes and events, but not Tags, at least if you can I have not managed to find it. Why and where do I want it, well, Joe Bloggs appears on the 1881 Census, so I add a Census Event, I am then given the opti...

How to automate 1901 Census data collection
I have been using the method for quite a while. I am using 1901 Census Extractor mentioned above. You have the option within this program to delete duplicates, but it will only do this for records where every field is duplicated. I find the best way is to export them to csv file, then import them in...
