Sort Date
Not sure if this has been requested before, but I would like to request a 'Sort Date', a non-printing date which would allow the user to sort events in the way he or she wants. For example, I have a number of individuals whose date of death is not known. Using a sort date would allow the death event...

Recording Source Citations
I have a number of birth certificates which I want to record as sources and I am following the tutorial in Chapter 12 of the book 'Getting the Most From Family Historian'. It states in the book that when the source has been created, and with Auto-Citation Enabled you can click in any of the fields o...

Source Title amp; Type Templates
Thanks for your very helpful reply Mike. I must have de-selected the option to display surnames when I first started using FH, and then subsequently thought it was the default setting.[rolleyes]

Source Title amp; Type Templates
I'm trying to get to grips with the Source Title Templates but I'm a little confused as to which I should use. In the AS tutorial it suggests using the following template for marriages: {KEYPERSON.SN_GN.CAPS} and {SPOUSE.SN_GN.CAPS} and {YEAR} and {SOURCETYPE} in turn. It then says that the example ...

Thanks Nick,
I hadn't thought of that. It makes very good sense.

Adding images to facts
Thanks Chris
That's very much quicker than the way I was doing it.
It still would be good to have the option to link images both to the source and the fact from withing AS though (when using method 1).

Adding images to facts
I would also like to link census images to facts as well as the source. When they are linked to the source, the images don't seem to be easily accessible, although, being a new user of FH, I might not be doing it right. I'm using Census Recording Method 1 to to enter census data in AS, and unlike Me...

Replacing Census (family) fact
I had entered a number of Census (family) facts in FH before discovering AS. If I've understood it correctly, any individual census record entered into AS can replace the existing fact, but it seems that the family census facts will be duplicated. Is there any way to delete all of the family census ...

Adding images to facts
Hi Jane Thanks for your reply. I'm new to FH, and I'm still finding my way around. I have been adding the images to the facts, but what you say makes sense. I take it that you only add the images to the source? I have to say, I have been using another program for a number of years but i've now switc...

Adding images to facts
Is there any way to make the 'Exclude from Diagrams' and 'Exclude from Reports' boxes be selected by default? I have a lot of census images to add, and which I don't want displayed, and I find it a bit of a pain to have to select the boxes every time I add an image.
