Report advice needed please
Hi, I have researched the past inhabitants of the street that I live on. I'm wanting to put the data into a report. But I'm struggling to work out the best method of doing this. The report isn't based on any one person, but rather all individuals that have lived on the street. So, I'd want occupants...

Re: Location Of Picture Attached To A Fact
You may like to take a look at the 'Complete Genealogy Reporter' software. I find it much better at reporting.

Re: Creating a web site with FH
Thanks, Nick although none of the people in those tree are related to me....I'm still preparing my personal tree for a Family Historian generated website; I've only been working on it since last June :D I'm still using a PHP based website for that: http://mollekin.net/familytree/ I think your site w...

Re: Creating a web site with FH
Hi Nick, Do you have a public tree where it would be possible to view the end result please? I too used to use PHP software (I've tried them all over the years) but tended to find that the many features confused people. Often, the registering and password stage would be the first major stumbling blo...

Does the mailto hyperlink appear on all pages (including individuals) or just the Home page? I like the Facebook link too.

Re: V6 Other Pictures in Reports
I'm finding it difficult to position media above specific facts. It either lumps them all together or down the side. I guess positioning them down the side is okay if you only have one photo per fact or a very long fact if you have more than one photo. I'm struggling to see any improvement over prev...

Re: Creating a web site with FH
I believe Webtrees is the successor to PHPGedview.
http://www.familytreephp.com/ is very easy to use.
I used Gedmill here: http://mollekin.net/molleken/home.html I have a copy of the software if you want it.

Re: Photo display problem
Thanks for the replies, Jane and Mike. Yes they are screenshots of webpages for Individual Summary Reports (for Web, CD or DVD). When I upgraded to v6, my media settings seem to get reset in the website publishing section. There is indeed a custom .css file but this was uploaded and the results shou...

Photo display problem
Hello, When I produced a website using v5, the pictures on a person's individual report were neatly aligned with the captions underneath. But with v6, the text stays on a single line only making a person's report look like a dog's dinner. Are there any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong p...

Re: Text Formatting In FH6?
I find that The Complete Genealogical Reporter is superb at producing reports. I've been using it ever since I began using Family Historian in 2009 as it bullet points facts/events. FTM produced attractive reports when I was using it 5+ years ago although the rest of the software was lacking.

Re: Preventing duplication of images in website generation
Okay, thanks, Jane. I'd actually stripped most of the links out so repeated locations in individual's timelines didn't have media attached. But then this kind of defeated the ease of attaching media to places in the new version, so I'm starting from scratch again, lol.

Preventing duplication of images in website generation
Hi, If, for example, I have an ancestor living at the same location during the 1871,1881 and 1891 Censuses and I attach identical photos of the location to each Census event, I have been finding that Family Historian is duplicating the images on the generated web pages. So instead of just displaying...

Re: FH6 First Impressions
I love it so far. It looks smooth and I love the subtle changes to the icons and text etc. Adding media directly into Places is unbelievably handy, as is the lat./long. feature. This will save me hours of time. I’ve only used it briefly, but the maps look superb and detailed. I never really got the ...

Re: Putting FH on an android tablet
To view my tree on my Android, without the need for a data connection, I use FamilyGTG. I only use it to view my tree though and don't edit it etc using this app.
