Brilliant, thanks Peter. I seemed to remember something from when I initially imported my data years ago, but could not remember how I'd done it.

Hi, Not sure how to describe this issue so I've uploaded a screen capture to illustrate what I want to do. On the screen capture are two fields that instead off having dots next to them, have what appear to be little asterixes. These fields are 'UID' and 'FSFTID'. Where can I view a list of these; ...

Brilliant, thanks again Mike; you've been a great help. I'll have another dabble tonight and hopefully finally crack it. I'm sure the quotes, when pasted into Family Historian, are in the correct format, so I'm not sure that this is going to work.

Thanks, Mike. I think Im tying myself in knots with this. Css code isnt really my bag, lol. When I added code to the ...at the end of the section and code to my.css, I got a nice narrow margin as below. I cannot replicate what I did above though whilst trying to do this properly. I add the...

Thanks, Jane. I also adjusted the settings in 'picture gaps' options but what ever value is entered makes no different to the gaps generated on the site. I don't know if that is just a problem with my computer/browser. But I had a feeling I'd end up having to tinker with the CSS. Or most likely, I'l...

Hi, I am in the process of generating a website using Family Historian but there is a problem niggling at me. How can I reduce the margin between the bottom of the photos and the text? Such a deep margin seems pointless to me. I have attached a photo to try and illustrate what I mean; I am wanting...

Export media structure
Thanks, Tatewise.
I am thinking it might be easier for me to just take out people with updated records (since creation of the project) from the new Gedcom and then merge them into the old Gedcom which has the correct media file path.
It's going to be fiddly either way.

Thanks, Peter. Unfortunately the Gedcom and Gedcom backups created since creating the project all contain the new project media paths.

Thanks for your reply, Tatewise, but is there a way to restore the links from a Gedcom previously backed up? I deleted the project a while ago and only have the Gedcom now, complete with the project media paths. But I need to some how restore the correct/original paths from a Gedcom prior to when I ...

Hi, I converted one of my Gedcoms to a Project. I had the media links in my Gedcom grouped into categories such as Residences, Churches and Streets etc etc. When I converted to the Project, FH decided to bung all the media into one folder entitled Media and changed all of the media links in the Gedc...

Thank you for your reply, Simon and apologies for the delay in replying. A reboot of my computer did not rectify the problem but installation of the 5.0.9 beta did, so thank you for that. The problem seemed to occur after copying my project to a different location. Anyway, all is well now so thanks ...

Hi,
All of a sudden, when I attempt to generate a website, I receive a UTF-8 conversion error.
I have attached an image of the error.
Is anybody able to please explain how I might be able to rectify this error?
Kind Regards,

Brilliant idea. Originally, I was thinking that I needed to re-write the whole css but then realised I only needed to create a file with the link to the image.

Thanks for your answer, Mike. The process looks a little awfully complicated though. I think I might need to do a beginners course in web design first.[grin][grin]

Hi,
When publishing a website, I notice that the generated pages have a white background. Is there a way through the website wizard to add a background image or will I need to edit the CSS ?
Kind Regards,
