Re: Photos not showing
Hi Mike,
I'm still having problems with the above. I accessed the report via the path you explained in your previous post, but the event photos are still not showing (there should be streets etc, but only profile photos are showing).
I just can't figure out why not....

Hi, Thanks for all your help; it’s really appreciated :-) I have another question and then I think I will be able to achieve the website that I’m aiming for. I have approximately 20,000 individuals attached to approximately 25,000 photos. I originally tried to create a website with pop out images, b...

Re: Removing name caption from report
Hi Mike, It's not a massive worry, so I don't want to put you to any trouble if you think it might give you a headache :) I wouldn't want a caption on any of the main profile pictures as I have them labelled them already. But, I suppose the photos that I particularly have a problem with are ones tha...

Re: Removing name caption from report
Thanks, Mike. However, there would be around nine thousand individuals to edit. I'll live with the caption I think

Re: Memory usage
Thanks, Mike. The only anomaly is that I never seemed to suffer this problem with Windows 7, or more likely I didn't notice.

Removing name caption from report
Hi, When I create an Summary Report for an individual, I wish for captions to be present under photos. But, I don't want the name of the individual to be present before the photo's title. I can't seem to find any obvious way of removing the name from the caption. Does anybody please know of a way to...

Re: Memory usage
Just checked again and it seems to be going up.
Like I wrote, this is when it's not being used. It does have loads of media links etc. Does it take a while for it to load them or something?

Memory usage
Hi, I've been noticing for some time now that after I first launch F.H., it seems to use quite a lot of my computer's resources for perhaps 30 minutes to an hour. I first noticed this last December when I got a new computer running Windows 8. Attached is a screenshot. Is this normal? The attached sc...

Re: Bulk adding of media
My method of recording Census data is very old and I adopted it when I first began researching my family tree over ten years ago. It just involves adding the address and occupation with the date as an event/description to an individual. I agree it would be better to revisit my data and convert to An...

Re: Website generation limitations
Thanks. I know when I tried to create a website with about 2,000 people and 3,000 photos, it was taking around half an hour I think to generate the website. That was with 4GB Ram and i3 processor. I'm still using 4GB Ram but with an i5 processor now. I'll see how I get on ....

Website generation limitations
Hello, For the last few years I have been researching the people of my home town. I currently use a PHP script to display my data. However, I am hoping to convert the website to a Family Historian generated website. My concern is whether Family Historian will be able to create my website. It current...

Re: Bulk adding of media
Thanks, Mike. I have looked at Ancestral Sources in the past and it does look like a very clever piece of software. The problem is, I have already added hundreds, maybe thousands of Census entries into my Gedcom, so it re-entering the data all over again would cause me serious headaches.

Re: Bulk adding of media
I'm halfway through adding my media (still many hundreds to go though), so I think I shall continue as I am. But the next stage was to begin adding Census images, so I think the idea that you've described here will be very useful for that purpose, thanks.

Re: Bulk adding of media
Thanks for replying, Mike. I mean I want to add media to Places. I would want to link existing media to lots of the same places at once. Although adding new media to lots of locations at once would be useful. For example, I have many marriages and baptisms occurring in Rotherham Minster. At the mome...

I see, so I'd create the pages, save them and then add them to the folder after the generation of the website?

Bulk adding of media
Hi, Currently, I use a query to find locations that I want to add media to and then add media to each event/person one by one. Is there any way to select a location and then add media to it so that the media is added to all instances where the location is present in the file? Kind Regards, Craig Mol...
