Re: Gedfamilies or Dropbox
Sorry for the confusion I've caused, it is obviously due to my lack of "a modicum of understanding the technology" as you say. Of course I realise one can't transfer FH to an IPad but I thought you would realise I meant transfer the data NOT the program. I downloaded the instructions from Telgen the...

Re: Gedfamilies or Dropbox
To answer your last question I had an e-mail from My History after I attended a FH course in Connisborough last year. The article is dated October 2013 and is headed." Using Family Historian Files on a Mobile Device." It states, "The good news for FH users is that there is an excellent app called Ge...

Re: Gedfamilies or Dropbox
I have been using Gedfamilies quite successfully. The only problem is that it does not update automatically. According to My History the GedFamilies app has been written to compliment FH so multimedia (photos) do transfer. Sorry if I posted to the wrong section. I was hoping someone who used either ...

Gedfamilies or Dropbox
I have been using Gedfamilies to view my family tree on my Ipad and IPhone but realise that information on these devices is not updated when I add to my tree on my pc. Is there a way to make this happen automatically or do I have to go through the somewhat complicated procedure each time. Would Drop...

Re: Saved Charts unable to open
Thank you Lorna for your reply. You are quite right I did only use my original download and I probably did upgrade at some time. Will now download the one you mention, was there only one?
Thanks also Mike will look at the site you mention.
Chris.

Saved Charts unable to open
I have two saved charts but when I try to open them the following message appears "FH chart was created on a more recent version of FH and cannot be opened by this version". How can I now be using an older version of FH. I have recently acquired a new computer and wonder if this is the cause of the ...

Re: Problem with PDF media in FH on new Win 8
Thanks Tatewise. I've selected "all files" and can now see the Valuation Rolls in My Documents and have copies them to the correct ancestor. As the Valuation Rolls are purely text I'm assuming pdf is better than jpg BUT if I wanted to convert any future pdf to jpg how do I go about it. Your second q...

Problem with PDF media in FH on new Win 8
I have had no problem re-installing Family Historian on to my new desk top Windows 8. All data arrived safely but I do have one problem, I've recently downloaded the Valuation Rolls from Scotlands People. These are pdf files and they are in "my documents". However when I click "add media" in Family ...
