Re: Custom Columns and Saving Expression

Hi Tatewise,

Yes it is still the same. I assumed at the time from your wording that a solution was in hand, I will report it.

Re: iPad Apps comparisons?

I have just come across another iPad app that is currently free (instead of $4.99) and that is Branches. It imported a FH gedcom (export) without issue. Worth taking a look at as it is free. Branches is no longer free, now £1.50 or $1.95 but I think still worth a look. It is only a viewer you canno...

Re: Speculative Link ~ Diagrams

Just added note to two other people in an All Relatives diagram, but note would not display until I changed text scheme back to INDI. . Even though the original one was still working with CUR_ ?

Re: Speculative Link ~ Diagrams

I am running v6. I'm surprised you even asked   I have been using an All Relatives diagram. Trying as requested, I cannot use %CUR_FAMC.NOTE2% in the Diagram Options / Boxes - message comes up "Data reference is to a record of the wrong type." I can use %CUR_FAMC.NOTE2% in the Diagram Op...

Re: Speculative Link ~ Diagrams

I was using the insert button in Edit Text Scheme Item and using the Data Reference Assistant and even though there it displayed the code within % signs. They were missing when it transferred into the template window, which I had not noticed. I have now manually inserted them and now it works. Thank...

Re: Speculative Link ~ Diagrams

I have used %INDI.FAMC[1].NOTE2% and that is what it displays in the box not the actual text entered in the Note field. I tried creating a Text Scheme Custom Item but didn't have a lot of luck, not knowing what other settings to use. Just tried this one %CUR_FAMC.NOTE2% but it told me "Not valid in ...

Speculative Link ~ Diagrams

[EDIT by Mike Tate] I have split this sequel off from 11966|Speculative Link because it is has become more complex than expected. Please excuse me jumping in here. I have been following this discussion and found Tatewise suggestion useful. However I am having difficulty getting the note text to disp...

Re: Plugin ToDo for MS Onenote

Hi JerryNotts & mezentia, Yes the capabilities of OneNote are very good I have used it for a number of years. However until recently it was not very successful on other operating platforms. So I started using EverNote instead. You might be aware that it is possible to send documents to OneNote direc...

Re: Plugin ToDo for MS Onenote

Thank you both for that. I'm not sure what I am looking for but In the Onenote section of the advert it states:- "Use the Send to OneNote tool to easily send quick notes, documents or even web pages to any notebook section you like." Which I suspect might refer only to other Office programs? There i...

Re: Plugin ToDo for MS Onenote

Do I need to elaborate on this topic? I used MS OneNote for research at the Records Library. But after getting an iPad I had to change to Evernote as the OneNote option for iPad was n't to good. However the latest version that comes with MS Office 365 works very well with the iPad and Android. So if...

Would it be possible to create a Plugin for MS Onenote, to do a similar function as the ToDo Plugin that Jane created a while ago for Evernote?

Re: FH CD-DVD viewing on ipad

Since I use Dropbox and already have a copy of Readdle Docs from my previous experimenting I have had another go at using it. After struggling with getting the CD/DVD files either opening in Readdle from Dropbox or to transfer them into Readdle. I tried downloading the FH CD folder direct into Readd...

Re: FH CD-DVD viewing on ipad

I have found the same on my iPad. It also happens with the Evernote plugin. Anything like a date or an address and it wants to use it for a calendar or contacts entry. It doesn't get anywhere but it is sometimes a bit irritating, I have looked through the IOS set up to see if auto collection of date...

Re: FH CD-DVD viewing on ipad

Well Done ejp :D I tried back in 2010 and again in 2012 to get a CD creation of FH to work on an iPad. I was successful on Android phone but could never get it to work on an iPad. As I said back then if people could get the CD DVD version of FH to work on an iPad why would they need a separate App f...

Re: Word Cloud Experiments

No mine is not the same issue. I don't have any blank surnames. I use the the family name of the person they are attached to within Square brackets until I find their missing surname. That way instead of having say a dozen Marys who you cannot see who they are attached to, you can see a name within ...

I tried the modified plugin but it still publishes the square brackets. I downloaded the modified plugin from your first post again, or should I have gone somewhere else?

Re: Word Cloud Experiments

Wow what a brilliant idea. I'm not one for logo T shirts but I had been thinking of how to do something different for the covers of my folders / books of the various branches of my tree. I wonder if it is possible not to include names in [square brackets]. I still put spouses without surnames under ...

Re: workflow and getting organized

jmurphy I'm not a long term user of Evernote, I came over from Onenote after getting an iPad when my Notebook died. I had also moved on to an android smart phone, so needed something that would work on any operating system. Evernote was the best I found for working over all 3 platforms. I was not se...

Re: workflow and getting organized

This might be a silly question but why can't you create a blog with windows? But before you do that: - I believe you mentioned in an earlier post that you were going to try Evernote. I think you will find it worthwhile to have a play with that first. Plus there is a plugin to import "Todo's" from FH...
