Re: Unable to install my Family History on new computer

I wasn't going to keep both pc's, the older one makes some odd noises now and again so I was going to donate it to one of the charities who wipe the disc to a high standard, refurbish it and pass it on to a good home. T...

My plea is for advice on how to install FH from version 2 through to version 5 (upgrades) on my new laptop. I...

Re: Moving to New PC

Many thanks Mike, I just need to load V4 on the new pc and forget the previous versions, a bonus. It's good to know I can put the v5 download onto a dvd, I just like to see it there infront of me. One other question, can I change the name of a project without causing too many problems with the files...

Moving to New PC

A newbie to your forum so please don't shout too loud if I am posting in the wrong area. I imagined it was fairly easy to transfer software and projects to new PC (which I now have) until I read Mike Collisons post a little earlier. It filled me with a little trepidation. I am looking to upgrade to ...

How do I link my Family Trees to FH?

Hello Everyone, I will apologise in advance with what would seem an easy thing to, however, I have so much information I am a little hesitant in proceeding, making a mistake and losing all my research. I have just formatted my hard drive (having backed up first)and have now reinstalled FH v3.1.2 My ...

Obsolete Names in File Drop Down Box

Thank you, yes I am aware of the registry and no I wouldn't want to go there. I have two new files I have yet to begin work on which I have named and included on the system. The offending items have now disappeared. I did try that previously but they kept coming back, now they seem to have gone for ...

Obsolete Names in File Drop Down Box

Hello Just a minor, but nevertheless irritating problem which I'm sure is easily remedied except I don't know the answer. I have two obsolete names amongst several in my file drop down box. I need to remove them but so far have been unsuccessful. Could someone help please. Regards Canberra100 ID:2638
