Yes Mike, really tricky. Probably doable with a V5 plugin, a good programmer, a copy of the Succession laws and some headache pills. Rank them, give them a customID 1+ for in line, 10,000+ for not.

Numbering records produced by a query
I think the audience for this would be pretty small so probably not one for the wish list. I'm guessing a plugin, using the Queen as the Root could be written to assign each person with a custom ID based on whatever rules/laws apply. Then renumber the RecordID using existing functionality. This woul...

Christening amp; Birth Dates
The wish list is just that - changes that what the FHUG community would like to see. Its up to Simon, the designer and developer of the software, as to what goes into the release, as he owns the programme. I'm guessing he's deliberately not coding for this one or that he's forgotten about it or th...

Problem I get one or two emails a month from people who have found my FH5 produced webpages. They invariably ask what the connection is (despite my having included a custom 'H...

Hi Hilton, On my own website, I've formatted the text using HTML tags as Mike suggests. I found that writing the sentence out in a freeware program like NVU (http://www.nvu.com) and then using the format options there made this simple. You then just have to copy and paste the HTML into the Stage 8 b...

Multiple occupations
WishList Item #11 is to mark preferred occupation. FHUG users have noted their workarounds.

I put this query together to try to sort out some multimedia files. Perhaps it could be a base for your requirement? Copy the output to a spreadheet if necessary.

The wishlist has now been pruned as per the spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aucc-18Ko4MmdEVnMk5XODdEajViRHJvVGwxd05pX2c&hl=en_US#gid=0 I would be grateful if people could revisit the above link and amend Column G where items remain that should have been closed. Well I'm out of options. When I change the preference, a different picture is shown.
The box in the diagram is definitely the person you want - you haven't accidently added a duplicate?

It makes no difference what is in the customid field. As to how have they got there? Have you merged any files in? If you don't want them in, you can delete them, either individually or by including CustomID as a column in a query and deleting them in there en masse. As a result of your first enquir...

The RecordID is the important one, the CustomID is there as a tool. If you enter a new individual, a new CustomID will not be given automatically, a RecordID will be. If you merge individuals you may get two CustomIDs If you want the RecordID and the CustomID to be the same, then BACK UP YOUR DATA...

I often don't remember that the links change from P1 to P2 and click 'First' thinking it is 'Next'. Maybe that's what was happening?
