Plugins that take more than a few seconds

The List All Citations takes about 20-40 seconds to run on my pc. I get grey out and see a 'not responding' message.

Is there a possibility of a PLUGIN RUNNING message/popup or such like - does not have to be a process bar just something to tell me not to be so impatient.

Wish List Items - nbsp;Solved by Plugins/V5

Re 306.
The OP is asking that dates are always added as CCYY (app) and then he can remove the (app) so I don't think this is 'fixed' (nor would I want it to be personally).

Export Clean Up

There is a wishlist item - 'Either remove or maintain the GIVN and SURN Tags (484)'

If it is not in FH5 I thought that it would be an ideal candidate for a plugin. Perhaps incorporated in your Export Clean Up.

Problem with use of NAME tag

Now on the wishlist.

This looks like something that will be pointed at when GEDCOM compliance is mentioned.

Webpages - Showing source for photographs

If I associate a photograph against someone, I now add the source for the photo, e.g. 'From Mum' or 'Source: Ancestry user FRED1234' in the NOTE field (next to LINK TO FACE) in the EDIT MEDIA ITEM popup. To get this to show on the report I then use the USE NOTE AS CAPTION. This blats the name but if...

I ran the plugin, couldn't see Uny Lelant; edited one entry removing the spaces and Cornwall was on the map! I then noticed that his French WW1 service has disappeared. I seem to be the only one having problems - is there a maximum number of events/attibutes? http://www.fhug.rjt.org.uk/images/upload...

I was surprised when, using my grandfather again, all Cornish events were missing. I worked out that Uny Lelant,Cornwall,England produces a marker on the map but Uny Lelant, Cornwall, England whilst being grammatically correct, doesn't. Of course most of my place records are comma space between plac...

I have Plumstead, Kent, England (residence and marriage) although I think maybe I should have Plumstead, London, England as at the time of the events not even the Post Office considered it Kent. From what Cole Valley Girl says, it looks like its Googlemaps that is the problem, having no historic abi...

Jane, I've had a few of strange results for this - I don't know if its the plug in or Google. I put in myself and two events for Plumstead (SE London) show as Silicon Court, Milton Keynes and two for Sydenham, Kent (near Brixton) show as St Peter's Rd Whitstable. Putting in a Fireman ancestor, I ini...

OK

As an aside I've used to the colour option on 1.9 to tell it apart from 1.1

Ancestral Sources v2 -  Beta Testing

Hi Nick,

How do you want problems/observations noted?

I would suggest within this forum, as separate posts, to lessen duplicate spots.

Where in FHUG to upload AS templates?

Also, what are the default templates?

UK 1841 > 1911
USA 1790 > 1930 (except 1890)
Ireland 1901 1911
Canada 1851(1852) > 1911 in English
?

If so I just need to upload Canada M-S-A 1906/16

I have one. I've exported it to an .xml file and can email it to you if you like - camichael.fh1@gmail.com You may need to amend it to your own needs. To be honest it was fairly easy to set up using the Census > Census Templates option. Open up a census that looks fairly like what you want (1910 Can...

Free Old Map Site - MAPCO

I subscribe to 'Lost Cousins' which gives a monthly newsletter that contains some good links. This month was a link to MAPCO which is a free site with high definition historic maps especially of London although it mentions UK and Australia. A quick browse showed an illustration of Gallipoli example ...

Web Publishing - Files In Folder

Apologies if I've asked this before. My web provider only allows 9999 files in a folder but I have ~16,000 people to upload. Using the web creation tool in FH puts the files in one folder and Gedmills doubles the number of files (I like the little trees!). My solution is to split my file 5 ways (gra...

Thanks - neat work around.

However I feel my point still stands that getting to the data I want needs a different method for facts and flags.

Add Fact - typing ahead

I often want to add Residence as a fact and expecting a type ahead function (as occurs with Flag selection) I keep on typing RES to get to it. This invariably gives me the Fact Tab 'Education' (I have no 'S' facts). To get Residence my route has to be Properties window, facts tab, add fact, R (shows...

I would like to see just the bad links really. Either a 'broken links only' option or a filter.

SAVING WITHOUT NOTES

Hi Snowyowl, The members here have written a good article on this. I found it by clicking on the 'How To's' (left hand side, under Main Menu) and then typing in Genes in the search. I have a tree in Genes (an one in Ancestry) which just includes direct ancestors, just to allow initial contact. I 'pu...

Possible wish list item

I feel I have asked this before but I've looked through the current wish list and can't see that I have. FH other uses?

OK, I know this will sound weird, but I have a Progressive Rock FH Project. It started when I was in my 'fed up with Family History' moods, read this thread, and thought 'I wonder if I can replicate the 'Pete Frame Rock Family Tree' format.' I failed. However playing about, I've ended up with a tree...
