Wishlist after FH5 and AS3
Good idea.
This was intended as a temporary thing to see where we are post V5.
I don't have good experiences with anything Wiki so cling on to what I know.
I'm perfectly happy if you can get it to be housed within FHUG
and I'll edit/delete the url

Wishlist after FH5 and AS3
A little while ago I put together a spreadsheet with all the wishlist items on it. I have now put this list onto Google documents and have made it so that anyone can edit it, sort it filter it etc. (I'm aware of the danger of it getting corrupted - I've done some backups but I'm sure people will tre...

Old Problem - still here
It is on the wishlist #56 and #471 #250 is similar I thought there was a plug-in, but a) I'm probably wrong, b) this won't do what you want it to do as it would be retrospective as opposed to being a real time thing. Personally, I don't mind it being there as long as there is a preference to switch ...

Fan chart rotation
The fan chart is very similar to drawing tools and shapes in applications like Microsoft Word. When you select a shape, look for little squares and dots in the blank area of the diagram - you may have to hit the - (minus) button in the toolbar a couple of times. These show the boundaries of the shap...

Fan chart rotation
I found that taking a fan chart apart to see how it is constructed did help in understanding how to customise it. If you right click, ungroup, select some segments and drag them sideways, you'll see the chart is composed of a circle on two semi-circles on four quadrants etc with text aligned so th...

County Flags
I just used Google images with name of county and flag. I ignored the obviously wrong ones. I then got into a debate in my mind as to whether I should use the ROI flag for 19th century Irish ancestors and whether the City Of London flag was right for City Of Westminster ancestors, but then as I us...

Military History
Probably an example of how not to do it. This is with V5 webcreate. I think I set up a source and attached all the images to it, put FH into auto-citation and then added everything as a fact. The Military Factset kindly created and uploaded by a FHUGee helped. I seem to remember being gobsmacked as ...

Happens for me where there are a lot of facts. I have many facts associated with one day for my grandfather (military records) which seem to overwhelm the plugin.

Documents in Multimedia
To show as an image, it has to be an image file. docs pdfs are not, so hence the icon. Do you know how to convert the will to an image format? Is the will a picture in the document or a transcription? If it is the former, you might be able to extract the image out, if it is the latter, why not copy ...

I have not had a good look, but the output could be probably look good associated with the person's web format page, much in the way that the maps are I guess.

Map Life Events in v5
As one who spent the evening trawling through Lord Of The Rings and World Of Warcraft sites that have guides to LUA to see if there was an answer to my 'how to update 20,000' web pages, before Mike kindly provided me with an answer, I'll state here that I find plugin writing daunting. The guides I f...

Website - adding a mini tree
I want to add a small tree to each webpage. Using Gedmills, I've created a number of .gifs and using an HTML editor can add the gif to the webpage. However I have about 20,000 pages. Each gif is numbered in line with the individual e.g. ind26790.html abd treeI26790.gif I've taken a short look at Mik...

Another way is to search for (name of place) latitude. Then enter the latitude / longitude into the boxes. There are a few websites that allow you to get lat/long by clicking on a map - helpful for entries such as 'lost at sea, four miles east of Dover' I think this plug-in is brilliant and I'm am...

Ignore the second part. I ran it again (map this individual) and it still said not enough memory. However watching the Resource showed me that the when I ran the plugin the memory went from 1804MB in use memory to 2161MB at the max before the Not Enough Memory pop-up. There was plenty of free memory...

I deleted the output folder. I then created a website with ~5000 people - 8000 objects Plug in a bit sluggish, but worked. Deleted it again and created a website with ~10000 individuals. About 30,000 objects Plug in ran for a few seconds and then Not Enough Memory. Using Task Manager Resourse meter ...
