I tried it at work and just used the Windows button on the keyboard. It does work well on a touch screen.but once you get back to the desktop and add a program to give you the start button back it works pretty well like 7.

Listing files in census folder
If anyone is interested in a batch file I modified this from something found on the web. You need to change the path to the folder you are saving the text file into. Just drag and drop the folder you want to list over the icon. You can chnage what is and is not displayed on line 1 @dir %1 /A /S > C:...

Listing files in census folder
It might be interesting to see and others can rename their file path.It's not suitable for anyone else because their file paths will be different.
Anyway there are quite a few batch script file examples on Google showing how to do it. Search for window list folder contents

Link to face problem
I am glad to know it was not just me. There were two people in the photo and the second face was very close to the bottom of the frame. I am used to dragging the cursor to the bottom or out of the frame and the 'pick area' ends at the frame border. As I say it is not a problem; all I need to do is s...

Link to face problem
I have used link to face in the multimedia pannel lots of times before and it is still working OK. But if I drag the area to the bottom of the photo area the photo scrolls up. Anybody else having this problem - all I have to do to prevent it is to release the mouse button just before the frame and s...

As far as I know you can have as many passwords and users as you like. This is a link to a online password generator and the page has a link to some more information: http://www.htaccesstools.com/htpasswd-generator/ You have a password file containing all the users with their passwords. If you were ...

I have not had a problem with it but I use Linux type servers. However, once you access a page and know its address you can access the page anywhere online without any password being required! That sounds very odd - once you close a browser down you should get logged out and when you go to the addre...

I have just been thinking about the problem and the code ruhane is using is probably using a session variable to track the user. This means it needs to go at the top of the page even before the . I have not used cookies but it could probably be done using one of those and in that case the method abo...

I have looked at the website wizard and I would probably put the code ruhane wants into the body BUT depending on his redirect method it might create an error if he is redirecting with a header(). In that case it would be better to display a message instead of an automatic redirect. This still will ...

I have not seen the FH Website Wizard. But putting some php within the header should be OK depending what it does. On my websites I setup all the page titles, metadate navigation etc. before the tag and the call it within the <head> <title><?php echo $title; ?></title> <myta http-equiv='Co...

Yes you can put php anywhere on an html page - I put quite a bit of code before the tag on my pages.
Another thing to add to your php page right after the <?php would be:
// php compressor
ob_start('ob_gzhandler');
As this can make the pages load faster.

I used the records window > individual records not a plugin. I thought you would either be able to leave the surname out or put a wildcard in.

One problem I have found in general is the married name and maiden name are different. I wanted to check for all first names without a surname but in the standard search box on individuals you have to put both Surname,Forename.

Thanks for the tip Peter as the woman in question is in three different familys as well! I will give it a go later - I had not seen the merge families part. I am digging my self a BIG BIG hole. I tried manualy deleting and linking and ended up in a mess again -...
