In the Focus window there is a row below the husband & wife which says (for example): 'Married 9 October 1970'.
Is there anyway to get that row to also display the location of the marriage?

Default Wording In Facts Tab Window
I am entering Graduation data under the Facts tab. I have entered all the required data, i.e., date, place, address. This entered information generates a sentence in the resulting Graduation box that reads 'He graduated from Purdue University on 21 January 1967'. This is fine. However, in the uppe...

Display Name Suffix On Diagrams, Focus Window, etc
After reading the additional responses, I did some experimenting with the suggestions and here are the results: http://www.fhug.org.uk/images/uploads/fh_experiment.png So the only way I could get the suffix to appear on both charts & the Focus window was to use Trial 1 parameters. If you just want t...

Display Name Suffix On Diagrams, Focus Window, etc
Thanks everyone for the tips. Mike, regarding your suggestion. If you add '/Jr.' in the name box and also have it entered in the 'Names/Titles-Suffix' box, will it cause the 'Jr.' to show twice in some diagrams-charts-tables? For Example, William T. Ward, Jr., Jr. Jane, does your suggestion imply th...

Display Name Suffix On Diagrams, Focus Window, etc
I am sure there is a simple way to do this, but I have not yet found the trick. I want to display suffix information (Jr., Sr., etc) on the names in the Focus window and on charts & diagrams. The suffix info has been entered in the Names/Titles box. Is there a box somewhere that I need to check to ...

Mike,
Is there a reference somewhere that would show where each of the various items you noted would be located in a report, book, narrative, etc.?

Jane, So, to do what you suggested regarding a 'Fact', I would enter the Property box and select 'Add Fact', then create a new Event/Attribute titled 'Biography', then paste my bio text into that event. However, your suggestion about manipulating a 'date' field and a 'custom sentence' is above my pr...

Yes Mike, that screenshot is exactly what it looked like, except that the word 'Notes' is mixed case as I have written it. Jane, I found that using the Notes feature in FH works great for adding all my biographies. Since my WikiTree site is still active, I simply opened WikiTree and copied the text...

Thanks for the clarification Mike. I will experiment with that approach as well. I did just notice that when I imported my family gedcom file from WikiTree into FH, all the biographies that I had posted in WikiTree were found to be buried in the FH records. The only way that I was able to see the i...

Jane & Mike, Thanks for the helpful responses. These bios are in some cases 2 to 3 pages long and include not only factual informtion about each person, but also life experiences, etc. I certainly would want them to be included in any books or reports that I might create with FH. So if I am interp...

New user here. I am still getting familiar with the program (version 5). My question is 'What is the best way to enter a person's biography?' I am inclined to type the bio as a WORD document, then convert to PDF and enter into FH as a multimedia file. This would appear to be a better option than ...
