Thank you Mike!
I forgot that this product is so flexible! I've changed the options and I'm now experimenting to see which layout I prefer.

FH generated web pages - position of photos
I'm on FH version 6.2.5 (the latest version I think) and I've just republished my FH website for the first time in about a year. The images of individuals are now all on the far right hand side of the page and I'm sure they didn't used to be - see attached example. Is there a setting I should be awa...

Re: PC disaster - struggling to reinstall FH v6

I have downloaded this file and kept a copy ... just in case there is another disaster! I'm now off to find that utility to back up my FH settings! Thanks to everyone for your hel...

Thanks for the pointer to the utility.

Re: PC disaster - struggling to reinstall FH v6
Thanks for the information. I can remember entering both version 5 and 6 passwords into the upgrade program but the link they give you to the upgrade program is only valid for a couple of weeks.
Sounds like I have to contact Calico Pie to get some help.

PC disaster - struggling to reinstall FH v6
Hi I have had FH since version 3 and have purchased 'upgrades' for each version through to version 6. I have the licence keys for the version 4, 5 and 6 upgrades. Yesterday I had a self inflicted PC disaster and lost all my programs but I still have my data files thank Goodness! I have read the guid...

Jane - Help!
Jane, Sorry to be a pain but I forgot the email address that I had used to set up my account 'billor' so I set up a new account bill_or. Now, I've remembered the address but cannot change it in the old username because I used it for the new username! Please would you delete the new account bill_or (...

Version 5 - upgrade or full version?
Thanks Jane - I'll give it a go.
If I only have to enter 2 licence codes (v4 upgrade and the v5 upgrade) then that's easier than having to enter (and find) 3!

Version 5 - upgrade or full version?
I initially purchased version 3 and then upgraded that to version 4 when that was released. Can I continue this process and purchase an upgrade to version 5? If so and at some point I change computer I'll then have to load version 3, upgrade to version 4 and then upgrade to version 5 - is that right...

Installation of 2nd copy of FH
Thanks Jane - I have started from scratch and now have a working copy of version 4.1.3 on my laptop. I suspect that it's a good job I kept a copy of the version 3 to version 4 upgrade program!

Query help please!
Peter, Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn't seem to quite do it. I am still getting some hits where there is defintiely a 1911 census record for that person. I've also tried Exclude if %INDI.CENS[1].DATE% was on 2 APR 1911 but that doesn't seem to exclude them all either. I can work with the lis...

Query help please!
I use queries so infrequently that I always fail to get them to work! I am currently adding 1911 census entries and want to make sure that I have not missed anyone in my file who was alive in 1911. I have started with the 'Alive' query from the Query store so that I can list everyone alive in 1911. ...

Positioning of Properties display
I have just upgraded my PC to Windows 7 and reinstalled all software. I'm pleased to report that the problem that I was having with the properties box being in the incorrect position has 'gone away'.
Thanks for all the advice.
By the way, so far, I'm very pleased with Windows 7.

Private Notes - a question and a cautionary tale
Helen, Thanks for telling me about this facility. I thought I'd go and try it out just to make sure so I played with the sample project, went to generate the web pages and spotted the hint on the 'choose privacy options' window. http://www.fhug.rjt.org.uk/images/uploads/Clipboard019.jpg I must have ...

Private Notes - a question and a cautionary tale
Before using FH I used FTM to record a private note about the cause of death of a relative. To my horror I have just realised that this private note has been published in the FH generated web pages. As a result the younger members of this person's family now know the manner of his death, a matter th...

Note the image is wrong! FH reset the options when I went to take the screen shot but it WAS unticked when I generated the web pages - honest!! I have tried a couple of times with different combinations of options but the only way I can get the photos included is to de-select the show basic details ...

web site - inclusion of photos of the 'living'
Just noticed that the web pages I have generated using v4.0.2 (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~billoreilly/) do not include photos of the individuals flagged as 'living' even though the tick box on the Privacy settings page (see image) is unticked. Anyone know if this is a 'feature...

Positioning of Properties display
Simon,
I've just done that (i.e. reset the properties box preferences to installation settings) but to no avail.
I've been a bit rash and pre-ordered Windows 7. I'll let you know if I still get the problem when I do a full reinstall after loading the new OS.
regards,
Bill

Jane,
Just realised that all I have to do to cause the problem is to switch between focus window and individual records window - and back to focus window - and the properties box is now in the middle of the screen!
