Re: Changing link color on focus window not "sticking"
Thanks Mike, that did the trick. I thought I might be forgetting a step. I agree... this is one of the more convoluted processes in Family Historian. Definitely could have been designed better.

Changing link color on focus window not "sticking"
I have my own color scheme. If I switch between that color scheme and the default most selections work fine. I have a problem with the link color however. -I make my scheme active in Tools > Preferences > General > Color Scheme -I then go to Tools > Preferences > Focus Window > Colors... and change ...

Re: question about OneDrive usage
Bill said that his PC came already set up with the My Documents folder on the D:\ drive, so it is quite possible (or likely?) that his USER account is set up as D:\Users\Bill. Interestingly, my Users folder is on the C: Drive and the Documents folder is on the D: Drive. I have been using this C:\ a...

Re: question about OneDrive usage
Mike, Thanks for the explanation. The computer came with a C: drive and a D:drive and My Documents was already located on the D: drive when I got it. When I installed OneDrive on the computer, I guess I must have had it create the OneDrive folder in that My Documents folder on my D: drive. I didn't ...

Re: question about OneDrive usage
Peter and Mike, Thanks for the replies. I did not move my entire My Documents folder into OneDrive so that may explain it. I don't remember ever moving the OneDrive folder although I may have a long time ago when I first installed OneDrive. My OneDrive folder is a subfolder of the My Documents folde...

question about OneDrive usage
I have a question on using OneDrive. In the topic 21975|Have lost access to FH on desktop and laptop (OneDrive) , I see references to a "OneDrive Documents" folder inside the OneDrive folder. I have been using OneDrive for my project for quite awhile. I have been using OneDrive itself for even longe...

Mike,
Sorry, I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I notice that Edward is still set up to have files available on demand. I thought they needed to be available offline all the time.

The data reference I use for just the Ahnentafel number is:
I'm not sure how (or if) you can make it show only for direct ancestors. There may be a way by checking if the number is blank or not.

Re: Windows 11
I customised the property box, added two fields : FamilysearchID and FindAGrave ID (i.e. had to recreate those fields from my old pc). As John Wosser was saying, there was no problem on Windows 10. So, I generally expect it to perform as before, under Windows 11. I wonder if could be in the way you...

An update from my experience :- FindAGrave - Copying and pasting the Memorial ID to FH7 using Control+C and Control+V still doesn't work. I'm not sure if this could be a font issue ? Where are you trying to paste it? It works fine for me pasting it into the note field or text from source field in F...

2. I need Ahnentafel to be a universal, visible data element, like name and gender, automatically populated where appropriate. I haven't really followed this thread so not sure if this would be of any help. You can add the Ahnentafel number to the caption at the top of the Poperty Box like this: im...

Re: EXPORT GEDCOM FILE plugin GEDCOM date
Mike,
Just a wild guess, but is it possible that something is preventing the existing export file from being deleted by the plugin so that when the new one is created it just overwrites the existing one and the create date is not getting updated?

Re: Duplicate names and spouses have same ID in Focus Window
You do have Abigail married to Thomas twice. If you go to the records window and select the Families tab you can delete one of these families since they appear to be identical. Select one of the families and hit the delete key. That will not delete any of the Individuals and the other family (marria...

Re: Have lost access to FH on desktop and laptop (OneDrive)

Then the FH Project Window default Location: My Documents\Family Historian Projects will work just fine. If you look back over this thread that has been t...

What does it show in the project window for Location:?
On the desktop, t needs to show the folder which contains your projects on your desktop. On you laptop, it needs to show the folder which contains you projects on you laptop.

I am able to edit column headings on my templates for the census. Not sure why you aren't able to.
Are you not able to change the wording or is it not being saved after you make the change?

Re: Ancestral Sources v.7.7.5 Testing (May 2023)
Nick,
So far so good. I've only tested it on censuses, but I had no problems. Thanks for the ability to use diacritics. I hadn't tested this before because I hadn't had a chance to recreate my FH settings in AS. The option to import from FH to AS was great.
Thanks!

Why not just put this in the address field (without the quotes)? This is what I do.
