Mike,
I knew about it, but had forgotten about it too.
I'll take a look at this after Christmas. I don't know much about scripting, but I might play around a bit with it.
Thanks for all the hard work in creating the plugin and in supporting it.
Have a Happy Holidays!
Bill

Map Life Facts script error
I did try running it with Comodo turned off and I still get the same error. Strange that I could run the test.hta file which has basically the same line of code in it and that worked fine. If I take the Map Life Facts.hta file that exists after the error and save it to another file and run it all by...

Map Life Facts script error
It is kind of strange since I don't seem to have any problems with other scripts.
I was trying to figure out what was going on at line 27 character 7, which is where the error occurs, but I couldn't tell what line it thought was line 27.
Oh well. Thanks for trying to figure it out.

Map Life Facts script error
I did a search and deleted all files that had 'Map Life Facts' in the name. I re-downloaded the plugin and installed it. I checked and ensured that the lua file did not have the read only attribute set. I ran the plugin and again got the same error. I checked the hta file and the beginning looked t...

Both test.html and test.hta worked. Test.html opened a map centered on London in my browser. Test.hta opened a map centered on London in a new window.

Thanks for the reminder. I do keep all my settings backed up. I had forgotten about the Windows Easy Transfer. I will definitely look into that and will review all the pertinent info in the knowledge base.

I can't currently update to SP2 due to an issue with my computer BIOS and SP2. So, I may be out of luck if that is the reason for the script error. Map Life Events doesn't work for me either. I'm getting a Plugin error. http://www.fhug.rjt.org.uk/images/uploads/Map_Life_Events_plugin_error.jpg Bill

Map Life Facts - why change proxy settings
Thanks for looking into the registry settings.
I went ahead and allowed all the access requests through Comodo. I know you are to be trusted and I guess I can trust Google. [smile]
I am still having the script problem that I mentioned in my other post though.
Thanks,
Bill

Mike, I am running on Vista SP1 with Comodo. No I didn't run it once without Comodo running because I didn't get that error you mentioned in my other message post. I did tell Comodo to allow all of the registry settings changes etc. Just now I closed Comodo and tried to run the plugin and got the sa...

I guess I must have downloaded the old version of the plugin using 5.0.0.1.

Mike, I did not get that message, but then again I didn't let the hta change the registry settings. I figured it would be safe as I trust you and Jane not to write plugins or use things that are dangerous. I was just wondering what was being changed in the registry settings before letting them get c...

Mike,
I understand that beta testers will see things like this. That isn't a problem for me.
I guess I was confused. I thought I was using the current beta version (5.0.0.3) and I'm still experiencing the problem, so I thought it wasn't fixed.
I guess you must be referring to 5.0.0.4?

I tried to run Map Life Facts and my firewall threw up the following warning.

Why is the plugin trying to change my proxy settings?

plugin version / update date
Mike,
Thanks for the reply. That does make setting the date kind of problematic.
I think if Tools / Plugins displayed the version number (and if plugin authors reliably update the version number every time they make an update) that would take care of it.
Thanks!
Bill

OK... I found and deleted all copies of the file on my hard drive. It existed in the folder you mentioned and also in my backup folder. Hi Mike, I remembered this, so I checked first. There were no files in C:ProgramDataCalico PieFamily Historian 5.0 BetaPlugins for this plugin when I did the last download. Despite this, the downloaded file got named with a -2 on the end. However, I did just check and the plugin files do not have th...

Hi Peter, I had thought of this, but I checked in C:ProgramDataCalico PieFamily Historian 5.0 BetaPlugins which is where the files are stored, and there is only the one file for this plugin and it is called 'Map Life Events-2.gh_lua'. I used the delete button on Tools / Plugins to delete the old ver...
