Overloaded,
I have not uploaded them to the site, but I'd be happy to share. Would you want just the USA template info or also the template info for Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota?

US Census
Overloaded, I've loaded quite a few US Censuses using Ancestral Sources. I've loaded ones for the US Cenus, the Iowa State Census, The Minnesota State Census, and the Wisconsin State Census. I had to tailor some of the US census templates because they didn't match up the way I liked with the US cen...

Map Life Facts V2.3
Mike, I have run across the same types of results. I've started putting the actual City, County, State, Country into the place name which gets carried over to the location in the plugin. Then if that doesn't plot to the correct spot on the map, I put that part of the place name into the substitut...

Jane, Are you saying these plugins were actually updated on 16 Jan and not uploaded until 12 Feb? Actually the version number doesn't seem to be getting updated with any regularity either. Ancestral Sources Data Entry - the one updated on 12 Feb 2012 was version 1.7 and so was the previous one Chang...

Map Life Facts V2.3
Mike, I too have seen strange results. I am finding that I often have to go in and tweak the results to get it to plot where it really belongs. Often it plots only to the middle of the county or the middle of the state for US locations. For Norwegian locations I often get plots that are to the mi...

First of all I want to thank everyone that has written plugins. They are really helpful and we are all appreciative. However, not to beat this to death, but the last update date is still not being set by plugin authors. For example: Address Reformating - plugin site says it was last updated on 13 Fe...

Map Life Facts V2.3
Mike,
For me, Norwich, Page County, Iowa plots to 40.7635099 and -95.1432068. This is exactly the same thing I get if I plot Page County, Iowa.
Very strange.

Mike,
No... I missed that. Kind of redundant to have to spell out the state and put in the postal abbreviation. That does work though.
Thanks,
Bill

Map Life Facts V2.3
Mike, Thanks for the explanation. I had not noticed that what was being plotted were businesses, not the towns themselves. I had already tried using substitutes. I tried 'Fosston, Polk County, Minnesota 56542' and 'North Branch, Chisago County, Minnesota 55056' and they would not plot either. I ...

Map Life Facts V2.3
Mike, I have a couple of places that refuse to plot. They come back as 'no plot'. However, if I go to Google Maps and enter the same name, they plot just fine. They are real towns in Minnesota. Fosston, Polk County, Minnesota North Branch, Chisago County, Minnesota Any ideas why these won't plot i...

Just as a note... I use the free PDF-XChange Viewer version 2.5 and I get both red and blue nodes without any problem.

I get the problem using both IE9 and Firefox 9.0.1.
It only happens if I OPEN.
I get the same results as Mike, -1, -2, -3, etc. So, for example, one of the files downloaded was:
Map Life Facts-1.fh_lua

I am not sure about the UK version of Ancestry, but in the US there are two different options for image viewers. The standard viewer uses the dropdown list for 50/100/150/200% image size, you can't drag the image around, and you can right click on the image and save. The advanced viewer uses the +...

Mike, I think I know what I did. I was playing around with the new GUI and did something I probably wouldn't usually do, but here is what happened. On the 'Geocode Location Plots' tab, I selected one place from the dropdown list. That gave me a marker. I then switched to the 'Set Preference Optio...

Mike, For some reason, I'm getting two markers sometimes when plotting a single place. http://www.fhug.rjt.org.uk/images/uploads/MapLifeFacts.jpg What I did was to plot a place and then I went to another place and plotted it. Both places then appeared on the map with markers. I tried clearing t...

Mike,
The way I made it happen was to download your new version of Map Life Facts twice. The first time it replaced the old one just fine (no number appended). The second time it appended '-1' to the name. Does it only append the '-1' if the file date or size is the same?

It would really be helpful if we had a way to sort the plugins by last update date when using the browse plugin option in the plugin store. Yes, I know there is a list on the right hand side of the page showing the last 5 updated plugins, but there are often more than 5 that have been updated sinc...

Mike, I was wondering if you could clear something up for me. I tried plotting some Address + Place combinations and see some odd things in the .loc file. Some entries have only a Place (no Address). For example: [' + Indiana']={22}, Some entries have only an Address (no Place). For example: [...

Mike, Thanks for the clarification. I thought that was what was happening, but I wasn't sure. I guess I should have read the help more thoroughly. Mike, It takes only 2 or 3 seconds to load for me. I have 6851 Individuals in my file. The three progress messages go by so fast I can't read them. The help was clear and helpful. It answered the few questions I had. I have tried the Create Web Page Maps. I like the output. I have not yet created a ...
