Timeline chart is blank
Jane, For most people when I use the timeline chart I get what I expect is the complete chart. The lifetime is the correct length and has the correct start year and end year. In the main portion (or middle portion) of the chart I get dots for the events in the persons life with corresponding text....

Peter,
I think this would be very useful. I was just trying to figure out how to get this exact information just the other day and couldn't figure out how to do it. Plugins are too much for my feeble mind to understand well enough to write one.
Thanks,
Bill

Problem making donation to FHUG
Jane, I tried to make a donation to FHUG using the link on the home page and ran into a problem. By the way, the donation was long overdue and I really appreciate all that you and the users on the FHUG do for us users! The problem is that I live in the US. The form wouldn't let me make a donation ...

Mike, I like the help a lot. It makes it very clear what is going on. Thanks for the additional info on migrating, I think this will help people a lot. I do have a couple of comments. On the download page, there is a problem with the page display. This Happens to me with both IE9 and Firefox 11. ...

Mike,
Makes sense. I think some help explaining what to do will help. It did work once I figured out what to do.
Thanks,
Bill

Mike, I think it is pretty easy to understand for regular backups and restores. I think it is really only confusing for migrating from the beta to version 5. What confused me was having to twice click on skip before I ever even saw the migrate button and then clicking on skip again after the migrate...

Mike, I got a little confused about when to skip and when not to, but what I ended up doing was always saying skip except when I used the button to migrate from the beta to version 5. Then I told it to restore the data and to restore the registry entries. Then I had to tell it to skip one last time....

Mike, Oops... ok... The first says Family Historian Version 5.0.0.9 . The second says Family Historian 5.0 Beta Version 5.0.0.7 . I started version 5, put in the new key, exited version 5, started the beta, tried to put in the version 5 key and it said it was invalid. Yes, I used the Migrate to FH V...

Mike, I do have all four entries in the Registry that you mentioned. How do I tell what the key is for each version? After installing and putting in the key for version 5, I then tried to start the beta and it said it had the wrong key. I entered my old 4.1 key and the beta started up no problem. ...

Jane,
Not sure why, but I can't run them both. If I put the key in for version 5, then the beta says it has the wrong key. If I put the key in for the beta (my old 4.1 key), then version 5 says it has the wrong key.

What's the delay, it is out there to be downloaded and installed. [grin]
Just kidding. I look forward to you having a chance to test it more.
Thanks,

Mike, I downloaded and installed version 5 today. I tried to run the restore and had a couple of problems. 1. When I installed version 5 it asked for my name and key. I put that in and it was accepted. Then I tried to start 5.0 beta and it wouldn't run because it said the key was wrong. So, I...

Mike, I copied all of the settings, references, and custom folders over from 4.1 to the beta so the beta has everything the way I like it. Mike, I've used option 1 before when moving to another computer for example. I think I will use option 2 for this because I really want to get the preferences copied over as well. Jane - no change if I change 'Individual' to 'I'. Mike - I really liked this option. I always hated the {} I got if there was no nickname. I tweaked it a bit so that I always have the right spacing even if there is no prefix, middle name, suffix, or nick name. Here is what I came up with. Individua...

I use a customized caption for the property box.
