FH 5 is working fine for me on Windows 7 64-bit although I bought the full program, not the update from version 4.
I also got my copy from Kagi and the key worked fine.

Jane,
I just wondered if you had gotten my file and had a chance to look at it it.
I know you have been extremely busy what with training and the new release, so I would completely understand if you haven't had a chance to look at it.
Thanks,
Bill

Map Life Facts Chapman/County/State Abbreviations
Mike, Most genealogists I know here in the US spell out the state names in their entirety so as to be absolutely clear as to which state it is. I know of only one that uses the 2 character postal codes. The two character codes went into effect in 1963 I believe so they have been in use for almos...

Map Life Facts Chapman/County/State Abbreviations
Mike,
I've never seen Ia as an 'official' code for Indiana. Wikipedia has a list of the abbreviations for the states used prior to the current two character postal codes went into effect.

Named List Members query
Jane, yes... that does work. Mike, I see. If I click on the + sign to expand the entry I can edit right there. What I was really hoping to be able to do was to use the result set kind of like an Excel spreadsheet and just copy and paste from one cell to another. Looks like that isn't possible. Tha...

Named List Members query
I've read through 'Getting the most from Family Historian' and looked through the help and the forums, but I can't seem to figure out how to do something. I created a named list and populated it with some sources. In the properties for the source list I checked 'Record Editing Enabled'. I then cr...

My AS has lost it's Memory
Hi Nick, Yes, I did get the email and did download and install 3.0.1. I had seen this other message thread, but ignored it because I only have one project. So, I obviously didn't understand the issue that Stevebye was referring to and shouldn't have piped up. [oops] It still has the problem of not...

My AS has lost it's Memory
Nick, So now I'm confused. Isn't AS supposed to remember the last folder used and select it the next time SAVE is clicked? For me, I believe all versions including 3.0.1 have usually remembered the last folder used (but not always). If not, what is supposed to happen and what is the known issue? B...

Problem making donation to FHUG
Thanks for the idea. I didn't know how this would work so I went back out to the donation site to see how I might do what you suggested. While I was there I tried to use the form again and lo and behold it worked today. When putting in 'United States' as the country, the county field disappeared. So...

Mike,
For the USA, I would think the postal codes you referenced would be the correct ones to use. Personally, I spell out the names of states so I wouldn't use these codes, but I'm sure there are some people that do.

Medium backup folder problem
I spoke too soon. I created a similarly named folder in the media folder of the sample project. I backed up and restored the sample project and the folder was restored with the correct name. Mike, I seem to always be getting the correct bars at the top and the bottom with the correct birth date and death date and corresponding life span. Jane, OK... so I exported two of the individuals that have the problem into a separate GED file and I was going to send that to you. But, I thought first I'd check that GED file to see if it exhibited the problem. It doesn't. The plugin works fine on this smaller file. So, the problem doesn't appe...

Jane,
I have sent you an email with a screen print showing the problem.
In the meantime, is there any other way to make a donation? It may take a long time (if ever) for PayPal to fix this.

Lorna,
I saw your post, but wasn't sure if it was the same or not so I started a new post. [grin]
I haven't run into any problem with the bar at the top and the bottom so far, just with no facts displaying.
Hopefully Jane will be able to figure out what is happening for both of us.
