Re: Rich Text font detection

Mark,

Thank you... that explains it.

I do think that refining the pattern match would be good. If I select "Segoe UI" out of the list, I would expect it to only find matches for that specific font, not any font beginning with those characters.

Thanks,
Bill

Re: Rich Text font detection

Mark, A couple of questions... When I run the plugin, and specify "Segoe UI" I get 80 results. When I specify "Segoe UI Symbol", I get 3 results. When I search for all defined fonts, I get 80 results. My first question is why isn't all defined fonts giving 83 results instead of 80? When I use Notepa...

Jim, Bill, Peter, Mark: Would that feature also offer a way of fixing those erroneous rich text formatted Notes?
I realise it would only be one at a time, but quicker than the current workarounds.
Mike,

That sounds like it would be helpful.

Re: Plain Text Only setting

Ouch! Are you a heavy rich text user, Bill, or are they in fields that should be plain text? Removing all formatting is much easier than doing it selectively. I am not a heavy user of rich text. I only use rich text for Individual Record links and Census grids. However, I do not use Seqoe for these...

In your screen shot you are looking at the All tab in the property box for that source. Go to the Main tab and the title is the first line. You can change it there.

For some reason it seems trying to update from within the program doesn't always work.

You can download the latest version here, https://www.family-historian.co.uk/install7.

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.6.3

Nick,

v7.6.3 does now identify the "Name" column as the place to put the links rather than the "Street Name" column.

Thanks for the quick "fix".

Nick, I can confirm that v7.6.2 does fix the problem with clicking in the lower pane. Thanks! I have run across another issue. For the 1950 USA Census it is creating the individual link in the wrong column. Instead of putting it in on the names in the Name column, it is putting it on the value in th...

Re: Use of woman's surname instead of married surname for censuses entries

I guess what what I do isn't what the majority of people do. However, I find it works best for me. I have too many married names that are the same. It really helps me to see the actual birth surname rather than the maiden name. I've been doing it this way for over 10 years so don't think I want to c...

Use of woman's surname instead of married surname for censuses entries

Is there a way to use a woman's actual primary surname as recorded in FH rather than the last married surname for censuses? I prefer to use the surname as recorded rather than the married surname in the auto text. I have been in the habit of manually changing this when creating new censuses. The opt...

Apply copies the contents of this memory to the main FH program, but until you click on Apply, it's not yet in FH to be saved.
Hopefully this isn't too dumb a question, but does clicking on OK do the same thing as clicking on Apply?

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.6.1

You shouldn't find the Fit button disappearing unless you click in the lower Rich Text source text and change something (e.g. type a letter or move a column). If you make a change to the text then the Auto checkbox will un-tick and the Fit button will disappear because AS now assumes you are editin...

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.6.1

Nick,

On the Source Convert screen, if I make a change in the upper grid and then click in the lower grid, the Fit button disappears and then no further changes are allowed in the upper grid. Is this working as expected? I keep forgetting to click the Fit button before clicking.

Thanks,

Re: Census Conversion

This all looks correct so presumably you find that AS and FH source text match? The source text created by AS doesn't specify a font size (which matches how FH does this things) so it just displays in the default font and size, except the heading which is 'default font size + 1'. Yes, everything lo...

I think a wish list item would be good. I've never submitted one as I fear that it would get so few votes that CP might be unlikely to implement it.
