Hi Nick, yes, it does!

Glad you found the problem. I also use Norton 360 and didn't have the problem so I was curious what was causing it. I had Data Protector turned off, so that explains it.

This is the way I handle it for my Norwegian ancestors. It works well for me. The majority of the folks that I exchange genealogy data with handle their patronymics in the same way.

Some users like the Occupation to be analysed using consistent attribute values. Users also like the Narrative sentence in reports to be reasonable. So for them neither Ag[ricultural] Lab[ourer] nor Unpaid Domestic Duties suits both purposes. Whereas standardised Agricultural Labourer and Housewife...

I also do as John does. I always enter exactly what is in the source. I would even enter Ag Lab if that was what it said and then add a note if I felt I needed to explain what that meant.

To set the default project, go to File > Project Window....
Select the project you want to have as the default.
Click on "More Tasks...".
Select "Set as Default Project".

This info is readily available just by searching for "default project" in the program help.

Enter a column heading you would like to see, then click on "Insert Data Ref...", and then select the data you would like to appear in that column.

You can select the ones that you want to merge and then use Edit > Merge/Compare Records to merge them. You can only merge two at a time.
