Peter I just tried what you suggest but it won't allow me as it keeps saying I must select 2 records (each has the same id number) so I can't select 2???[frown]

I am using v4.1 discovered I had 2 Id's for one family,I merged the 2 for husband, then merged the 2 of his wife NOW I have 1 record showing they both had 2 spouse's showing 1 child from each marriage (it's correct they had 2 sons) but they only married once how can I correct this mess now? I am running version 4 .0. on main page of my family web site it shows just under What next? Get the most out of your MyHeritage.com.family site : 73% complete, and this has not changed in the 12 months I have had MyHeritage, why doesn't it show 100%??

Gerry, I did try selecting one record then edit/merge but still can't select the other as they are one and the same with same ID.

Will try the gedcom file to try & validate.

FH won't let me do that either, sends a message 'You must select 2 & only 2 records for merging' which is all I am doing.???[confused]

Sorry about this, I am only able to select one of the records to merge wil not allow me to select the 2nd record as they both have same ID number. Can I just delete one entry for husband and 1 for the wife without losing anything about children?

I have just opened up FH again to try entering dob this time no menu pop down and will only all me to type 6 digits in the space. Went into tools to see if I could get to the date entry assistant but can't see it. What is my correct step now??

In Main tab in Birth space nothing will type, press keys and nothing happens, when I click the little tab with 3 dots at end of birth space menu appears: Date entry assistant Gregorian :None , Approximate.. Calculated and Estimated As I do know the date of birth I feel none of the above apply!!

Thanks Jane, I now have my registration key no from Calico Pie, installed v 3 then upgrade to v4, able to find most of my history..missing abt.12months research, better than all of it.

Did have external hard drive, this is where I can't open the file, downloaded v 4 trial but it won't accept my licience no. Had no reply from email sent to Calico Pie yet to see what they say I can do about it.

My computer crashed,lost everything but 1 file was retrieved but need to re-instal before windows will open file.Do I re-install v3 then the upgrade which is how I purchased software or try to download full v4? Help
