Thanks for the reply, I found Gedfix eventually - but it doesn't help. FTM saves a Gedcom with nicknames listed in a line below NAME as '1  ALIA /Kit/' for example.  Then Gedfix seems to give a transation such that the ALIA line is changed to '2 _USED /Kit/' and FH doesn't appear to recognise that a...

Where has the GEDfix, refered to by Admin, for FTM download gone?  I have looked for it all over the site but can't unearth it.  I am interested as I convert FTM files to GEDCOM for use in Fam Historian and I hit a snag with nicknames not being transfered properly.
