Re: Is there a 'Dead Flag'?

I do find the auto reversion useful after I've been fine-tuning the display (aka messing about

I succumbed - one of my long-standing mysteries is a Frank Taylor who appears as an 8-year-old in the 1891 census. He's living in my GG-GM's household and is just described as her grandson. Similar in 1901 and 1911, just adding 10y each time. Unfortunately, he's b Newton Heath in the 1st census and ...

Short Title for Source in Automatic Source Citation Pane?
This actually isn't that important but I've got it into my head that I was once able to alter it but now can't find any such option. See the Automatic Source Citation Pane below: Screenshot 2023-07-05 220011.jpg The item labelled Source , containing "Miss Barclay Bruce...", appears to be the (Full) ...

I couldn't suppress Marriage Banns as a fact without it automatically disappearing from the Add Fact list, so that was my idea out of the window.
Does the no-entry sign actually do what it says on the tin and stop you using it? If so, what's the error message?

Re: Birth and Birth Registration
Forgive my ignorance, what is the difference between a “birth registration” and other types of birth sources? A birth source can be (but is not limited to) certificates, church registries, bible entries, census entries, letters, government documents. The birth “fact” is designed to expose informati...

A quick experiment suggests that setting Eliza Jane with a normal space as the Given Name Used will use that double-barrelled name instead of just Eliza in Reports. ... So it does - thanks very much. Filtering on names with non-breaking spaces
Every once in a while, I find a name like "Eliza Jane" where I become convinced (rightly or wrongly) that said individual was known as "Eliza Jane" in daily life and not as "Eliza". Reports and "stuff" will normally refer to "Eliza Jane Smith" (or whoever) as "Eliza". Unless, that is, you do what I ...

Re: Allow citation fields in bibliography on sources
Err - surely you can't include Citation Level items in the Record Title of a Source Record, given that there are potentially many different values of that Citation Level item for the one Source Record? Or am I missing something?

[Wish List entry 602] Type-ahead for place-names to ignore leading commas and white spaces
Background - some users of FH organise their place-names to put all countries, etc. in the same "column" (where a column is defined by commas). When I tried this, I immediately ran into problems trying to enter a place-name of "Australia" (say) against an event because I could never remember whethe...

In response to Mark's categorisation - I suggest, as the OP - that this item is closed because Mike Tate's suggestion of using "GetLabelledText" to handle places-names beginning with "The", resolved the specific use-case that started me on this thread. The 2nd specific use-case of "How do I spell 'M...
