Re: Have lost access to FH on desktop and laptop (OneDrive)
You cannot successfully sync the two PC unless you stick to just one Microsoft Account. Please describe how you sign-in to the PC and to OneDrive. e.g. Do you sign-in to the PC Windows user accounts using a local username & password or PIN? Do you sign-in to the PC Windows user accounts using the Mi...

Also, try adjusting the Scaling so more of the Diagram is visible without scrolling, but large Diagrams will often need both horizontal & vertical scrolling and adjusting the Scaling via the + Zoom In and - Zoom Out buttons.

Re: Have lost access to FH on desktop and laptop (OneDrive)
Peter, when Edward started this thread he admitted there was a OneDrive sync problem due to a lack of cloud storage. Side effects of that may also have led to different OneDrive folders. Back in 2021, it seems the Desktop path was: C:\Users\Edward\OneDrive\OneDrive Documents\FamilyHistorian Projects...

Re: Have lost access to FH on desktop and laptop (OneDrive)
Adrian is correct, the C:\Users\ name is completely independent of the Microsoft Account / OneDrive sign-in username. I was just highlighting that they had radically changed on both PC since Edward's previous thread 18 months ago. For OneDrive sync to work the same Microsoft Account / OneDrive sign-...

Re: Splash screen in v7.0.21.0
The FH Update says it positions the splash screen centrally over the main FH window in its Restored Down position. So use Restore Down, then position the FH window centrally and Close FH. Then when FH starts the splash screen should be central and you can return to Maximised full-screen mode. The sp...

Re: Invalid URL in FH Source Templates with GedSite
Welcome to the FHUG Gilles. I have moved this posting to the Sources, Citations & Repositories forum where it fits better. Apparently, ESM acknowledges that this is a problem (EE, p. 77): *URL CITATION* A colon -- preceded by a space and followed by a space -- separates the URL (the website publicat...

Re: EXPORT GEDCOM FILE plugin GEDCOM date
Paul, I have started a new topic for this as it is a completely unrelated new issue. I presume you are referring to the date time shown by Windows File Explorer against the .ged file in the Export folder. I cannot reproduce your symptoms. The Created Date and Modified Date are always the date & time...

Re: am I missing a setting? Attaching media to facts
Thank you for that explanation. You are correct that the checkbox to Include Source Record Media is just a display option and does not change the # of links. You could run the Where Used Record Links plugin on the Source Record instead of its Media Record and get similar results to running it on the...

Re: Have lost access to FH on desktop and laptop (OneDrive)
In his earlier 12872|Using FH program on my laptop and computer thread Edward was guided through deleting excessive FH Snapshot files and old Backup ZIP files to get OneDrive syncing successfully. I suspect Edward has not kept up that regime for deleting old files, and if they are deleted now, OneDr...

Yes Nick, I realise OneDrive is not syncing now, but it seems it has never synced because the folder names are very different.

Re: Adoption entries
Remove the word Spouse: from the Spouse a.k.a. item Template.
The text at the start of every Template is what gets displayed as the label in the box, so edit as desired.
Does that do what you want?

Re: Have lost access to FH on desktop and laptop (OneDrive)
Sorry, but the details you posted are more muddled than I expected and I am really busy this weekend so it will be difficult to find the time to analyse those details and propose solutions. I might find time tomorrow evening. My first reaction is that if you know there should only be one Family Hist...

Sorry, but I'm not entirely sure what circumstances you are describing and which a.k.a. you want to be suppressed.
However, try adjusting the Spouse a.k.a. item and tick Only output if previous item blank.

Yes, you need to adjust the Text Scheme. In the Diagram > Options > Text tab use Clone... to create a custom copy of the current Text Scheme and select it. Now Edit Text Scheme... then select Spouse Name if 'One Box per Marriage' on the right and Clone Line . Edit the cloned copy, change its Descrip...

Re: EXPORT GEDCOM plugin problem with latest update
I have attached the Export Gedcom File - V5-4 plugin Version 5.4 Date 13 Apr 2023 which is the previous version. So you can run either the previous Export Gedcom File - V5-4 or the current Export Gedcom File plugin and compare the results. However, in the 21430|Export Gedcom Plugin thread, you were ...

In the First Names item tick the option to Only output if previous item blank.
Then the First names will only be displayed if the preceding Nickname (aka) item is empty.

Re: Flexible CSV importer - name type
The plugin will match the REFN and Names (P.NAME) in the CSV with existing REFN and Name fields in the Project.
If it finds a match then any other values on the same row as the Name will get imported against that Name.
If it does not find a match then that new Name is added for the REFN.

Re: Flexible CSV importer - name type
Did you see my example CSV code? What exactly did you put in the CSV file? You put P.NAME.TYPE as a CSV column header just like you put P.NAME as a column header. ( I've just realised that the plugin does not handle the Detail label correctly for the TYPE field, but that does not prevent it from imp...

Re: Have lost access to FH on desktop and laptop (OneDrive)
It sounds like your OneDrive storage has virtually no spare capacity, so you must either reduce the quantity of files in OneDrive or pay for increased storage. Until that is resolved, the FH use of OneDrive is fraught with risk. Fixing these types of problems requires very precise details, which is ...
