Notes Field
I forgot to mention that this feature was not in Gedcom Census, it was added in Ancestral Sources. Also there is another refinement. In AS use Tools > Options > Census settings , and under Generic Columns lower right, there is an option to Include note titles . If you remove the tick, then the Colum...

First of all have you unzipped the Kinsfolk_Census_Queries.zip downloaded file? Right-click on this .zip file and use Extract All or use WinZip or 7-Zip to unzip and extract both files: Kinsfolk Census Done Report.fhq Kinsfolk Census To Do Table.fhq Rather copy these two .fhq files to the Queries fo...

Just to add to what Nick has said: On old PC use Tools > Backup A.S. Options which should use your AS Backups folder to save an XML file. Have you looked at Ahnentafel numbers? Google Ahnentafel for more details. FH Reports and Functions support Ahnentafel numbers. Also the AhnentafelNumber() function can be used to display the Ahnentafel Number in the Individual Property Box caption/title at the top. Alternatively, you could edit you...

Hi Keith It depends on what you mean by ' Source Records in FH were correct '. The option to hide Publication Information in Reports does just that. The Publication Information fields in Source records are still there, and from what you say, some Source records have this field filled in, and others ...

In 2008 you would have been using Gedcom Census not Ancestral Sources, or perhaps you would have entered Census Sources by hand.
By default Gedcom Census did not Record the census reference in the source 'Publication Information' field.
This might explain the discrepancies.

Utility Request - Surname conversion to UPPERCASE
I agree with Jane. Ancestry does not require upper-case surnames. I have just uploaded a GEDCOM from FH to Ancestry with normal Capitalised Surnames and it uploaded fine. Regarding converting upper-case to lower-case using a regular expression editor, I think it would be tedious. Most RE do not allo...

Here are some suggestions. When you enter a Fact the Age is shown on the Facts tab in parentheses ( ) . In the case of your 1975 Marriage it will show as (14) . When you know the person's age, in this case from the Marriage Certificate, then enter it in the Age box, and the parentheses are removed f...

The explanation of the 'bizarre' List in Record Order is that Events are listed in the following record order:
Individual Events (with blue dot) such as Birth & Death
Family Events (with red dot) such as Marriage & Divorce
Child Events (with grey dot) such as Birth of Children

My understanding is that it depends on what type of CD you have. If you have the Family Historian 4 boxed set CD costing over £30 then you can install that. I will answer your questions in reverse order. (4) How long would it take to update a website of 3,000 odd files? Assume each file is a JPG of about 1Mbyte or roughly 10Mbits. So you have 3,000 x 10Mbits = 30,000Mbits to upload. Assume upload speed is roughly 1Mbit/sec (usually about a tenth of your...
