Jane, what is the recommended method for registering bugs such as this one? There does not seem to be a 'Known Bugs List' on either this FHUG website nor the Family Historian website. I assume your filename now looks like PB-INDI.txt or perhaps PB-INDI.fhdata.txt
Simply rename the file to be PB-INDI.fhdata
Ignore the warning that changing the file extension may make it unusable.

Unfortunately, phreplace does not work on Windows Vista as documented on the developers website, and probably explains why I cannot get it to work on Windows 7.

If do not add the adoptive parents as a second set of parents then FH cannot create a family tree diagram with the adoptive parents linked to the child.

Deleting the NAME of every Living individual is easy, but replacing is more difficult.

Create an Individual Query that lists the %INDI.NAME[1]% of everyone who has %INDI._FLGS.__LIVING% set.
In the Results, select the entire Name Column, then press Delete key, and OK the warning.

Have you looked at the FH =RelationPool(%INDI%) function? FH associates individuals with the same pool, if they are related to one another directly or indirectly, and arbitrarily assigns a number to each pool. The popular convention is to enter the Individuals main Name as their given birth name as on their Birth Certificate.

All other names such as married women changes of Surname, adopted names, deed pole changes, titles such as Duke of York, etc, are entered as Alternate aka names.
