Re: query grids
Some columns are black when they are linked to data, the other ordinary columns are grey. As Helen says, use the Query Window > Colours option and set Ordinary Text to a darker colour by double-clicking the Colour box and choosing dark blue or dark brown to differentiate them from Data-Linked text.

Re: Have lost access to FH on desktop and laptop (OneDrive)
I think by now you should be able to answer some of those questions yourself. Why do you think C:\Users\Toshiba\OneDrive\OneDrive Documents\Family Historian Projects must be used on the Laptop? Why are the PC not syncing? They were syncing the last time you checked. Is OneDrive running and signed in...

Re: Finding Expressions
1. Currently, when I need an expression, I manually search the extensive, categorized, nested list, line by line. Is there a more efficient way to find a specific expression, even when I don't know how it might be categorized? I think you are misusing the word 'expression' when you really mean 'fun...

Re: EXPORT GEDCOM FILE plugin GEDCOM date
I guess it could be some privilege setting with that effect but it applies to all the folders Paul tried.
Paul, presumably you can manually delete those exported GEDCOM files.

Re: EXPORT GEDCOM FILE plugin GEDCOM date
That is very unusual. As you can see, nobody else has that problem. I am also running a fully up-to-date Windows 10. The only other things I can suggest are to re-install FH V7 and Restart your PC (NOT Shutdown & reboot but Restart) which bypasses the Windows Quickstart feature and rebuilds your Win...

Re: EXPORT GEDCOM FILE plugin GEDCOM date
Well, that gets stranger and stranger. I've just double-checked the plugin script and it deletes the Export GEDCOM file before writing the new export. That was added to Export Gedcom File Version 5.0 a year ago and is still present in Version 5.5. I recall that somebody reported what you are reporti...

Re: Comparing Files and Merging Required Differences
Presumably, those links were/are broken in the original Project that you are importing from since the P: drive is not online. As long as you don't change the Filenames, and preferably keep the sub-folder structure, then FH should find them. I assume the OneDrive default directory is the Media folder...

Re: Emigration & Travel
I think you are asking is: Can there be two specific facts for Travel and Emigration that both have a Place field and a To field? That was partly answered in the 21736|Travel thread so here goes again. The really short answer is that Calico Pie cannot predict every fact that every user might want so...

Re: Emigration & Travel
Mark, copying the fact does not work either because the copy uses the same standard GEDCOM code and will eclipse the original fact. We discussed this topic at length with John in the 21736|Travel thread earlier this year but it does not seem to have come to a conclusion because John did not respond ...

Re: Existence of a field definition in Source Template
Helen, I don't think that provides the position of a metafield and does not work in Source Templates only in Source records. Yes, Alan, I think you can achieve most if not all your requirements. Focus on the Records Window, Source Templates tab which by default lists Template Name, Collection, and L...

Re: Filtering on names with non-breaking spaces
A quick experiment suggests that setting Eliza Jane with a normal space as the Given Name Used will use that double-barrelled name instead of just Eliza in Reports. So that solves the problem you posed in Reports without using a no-break-space. Therefore, filtering works as normal. i.e. Revert all t...

Re: EXPORT GEDCOM FILE plugin GEDCOM date
It would seem to be a Google Drive quirk.
Right-click the Master ANC UTF8 Gedcom File and choose Properties.
What are the three Dates: Created, Modified, Accessed?
As an experiment, change the plugin Export folder to a folder that is not in Google Drive. What happens to the Date?

Did you copy & paste the expression from my reply directly into the FH Template?
It would help if you can copy & paste the Template expression directly from FH to the reply box here so I can analyse it.

Re: Does not display date in ABBREV3 format
Yes, that looks like the correct approach. If when you test it you have any problems then post here again. On closer inspection, the following would be better to cope with no Day or no Month in Date: if iDay >= 1 and iDay <= 9 then sDay = '0' .. iDay; elseif iDay > 9 then sDay = iDay; end if iMonth ...

All Relatives displays many more relatives including spouses, cousins, etc. Just try them and investigate the resu...

Re: Does not display date in ABBREV3 format
I don't think Mark is entirely correct about the yyyy-mm-dd format. Tools > Preferences > General > Preferred Short Date Format: yyyy-mm-dd is used when ABBREV3 format is chosen. The snag is that it omits leading zeros in the month and day components so 1st Jan 1900 is 1900-1-1 which does not sort c...

Re: Does not display date in ABBREV3 format

That option is in the Diagram > Options > General tab too!
Just change the Tree: type at the top but it will rebuild the diagram anyway.
What had you customised that you need to preserve in the new diagram?

Re: Have lost access to FH on desktop and laptop (OneDrive)

If necessary put those notes into a simple text file and pin that to the Windows desktop so they are easily found. Because your two PC are now synced via OneDrive, some problems on the Laptop should already be ...
