Re: Relationships
Unfortunately, the function documentation often does not explain that some parameters have default values which are used if explicit values are omitted. Also, sometimes parameters are optional. In the case of Relationship(...) the first two parameters reference the individual records whose relations...

Re: recovering files
See Family Historian Program Data Folder that gives: C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\ All the global customisations held in files are within that Family Historian folder but there are other customisations held in the Windows Registry and some in the Project folder. Did you use one of the ...

Re: Conditional Text for Witnesses
Yes, that is quite a tricky scenario. Your problem is that FACT._SHAR[1]> refers to the 1st Fact Witness who might not be the current witness. So use the shortcut CUR~WITN> which always refers to the current witness. See the Help for Understanding Data References. Better than testing the SEX field I...

Re: Export Gedcom plugin project changes (bug?)
Yes, coping with all the possible functions, data refs, qualifiers, and style codes would be a nightmare
The BOOK and TITLE styles involve a Windows Registry lookup.
Any new features would require almost instant enhancement to the plugin.

Re: Export Gedcom plugin project changes (bug?)
There are no visual clues in the final memo to indicate that the user needs to pay more attention. IMO, it would be much clearer to use a standard IUP message box with the appropriate icon - blue information for normal use, yellow warning to highlight changed data. If you want to keep the additiona...

Re: Exporting using Flags
You are correct that the Exporting forum is for exporting to other programs. It was not clear from your posting whether another product was involved or not. However, some techniques for exporting and importing to FH are very similar. Would your solution be useful to other users? If so then let us al...

Re: Export Gedcom plugin project changes (bug?)
Perhaps the plugin needs to make that effect it bit more obvious but it is mentioned and it is relatively benign. In the closing Memo it says: NOTE: Use Edit > Undo Plugin Updates to avoid increased Record Id. It only applies to Projects with Templated Sources and is explained on the Extar Options t...

Are you saying that Source Citations for Facts/Events are being omitted despite the Source Records option saying Include?
BTW: I've moved this to the Exporting forum that seems more appropriate.

Re: Modifying the generic source ‘template’
With all due respect, you need to take a step back and review the Help and examples in the Family Historian Sample Project. If you wish to use Generic Source Citations then you must work within the constraints of the GEDCOM specified fields. It is not usually possible to invent fields with names tha...

Re: Exporting to Gramps
Could you please explain the problem in a bit more detail? Maybe you have figured it out but we are still in the dark :D FH does use Titles for Source Citations. Please illustrate, perhaps with some screenshots, the Citation details in FH and how they appear in Gramps, with an explanation of why tha...

Re: Add Source Type to Source plugin
Thank you.
I decided it was not worth including the Generic Source Type in the Result Set as it is the same for every row and the same as the value just chosen in the plugin. It would be a bit repetitive

Re: Flags
The expression needs to refer to the Marriage Event's Source Citation (not the Family record Source Citation). e.g. =IsTrue( %FAM.MARR.SOUR[1]>_SRCT>NAME% = "Civil Registration Certificate" ) I'm using = to check for an exact match of the template name. =ContainsText( %FAM.MARR.SOUR[1]>_SRCT>NAME%, ...

Re: Flags
The examples I posted are not completely valid expressions because it depends on your answer to the question: "As a matter of interest, how do you use such Flags?" You say "I can tick that manually when I possess a certificate for the marriage." which suggests you use the Flag to remind you that you...

Re: Creating a Source Template
Close the Source Template Definition Editor and check the Source Template Definitions for the Custom collection. Ok, that is possible, but first close and reopen FH so that it learns about the Fact custom Flag: Marriage Certificate. Just be aware that Flag becomes an option for any Fact. In the custom tab settings, you will see the Data Ref: %FAM.MARR[1]._FLGS.__MARRIAGE_CERT% is now available. As a matter of ...

Re: Add Source Type to Source plugin
As you may have realised the logic to deal with all those cases is a little tricky. In practice, the scenario where the Generic Type field exists but is empty will be unlikely because it automatically gets removed when FH is closed and re-opened. In my experience, it mainly arises when users are tes...

Re: Property box panel size not remembered
I find that sizing gets reset as soon as another window in FH is displayed such as Records Window, Map Window, etc.
When you return to the Property Box Facts tab the horizontal bar is reset to roughly in the middle.

Re: Flags
I am not sure exactly what Flag(s) you have created. A screenshot would help. It is only possible to create Individual record Flags. No other type of record (including Family records) can have a Flag. In addition, Facts can have a Flag but that is rather different. There is certainly no top-level op...

Re: Seperate Facts and attributes in property box
rcpettit has not responded to your question: "Does sorting to the top (or bottom) meet your need?" Until we know the answer to that any detailed discussion is somewhat pointless. Regarding the risk of inexperienced users 'losing' fact types and having no way to create the relevant fact, IMO that can...

Re: Add Source Type to Source plugin
Sorry, there was a silly typo which is now fixed. The earlier versions never confirmed how many records were updated but it does now as well as producing a Result Set. My original thinking was that the Result Set indicates how many records were updated at the bottom right. However, all those changes...

Re: Add Source Type to Source plugin
I think I've fixed the blank Generic Type field problem in the attached Set Generic Type in Source Records plugin Version 0.2 Date 17 Jul 2023. Typically, plugins that operate on FH records allow the records to be preselected in the Records Window. So in this plugin, any preselected Source records w...

Yes, I can confirm that FreBMD entry for Q2 1877 (not 1887) and FindMyPast has the same entry.
FreeBMD gives:
Births Jun 1877 (>99%)
BROWN Elizabeth Louise Mile End 1c 570
BUCKLAND Agnes Mile End 1c 570

Re: Seperate Facts and attributes in property box
CP don't need to create a special tab. A standard Property Box custom tab will work perfectly well. In the FHUG Knowledge Base Downloads, there are several Property Box custom tabs available. Most of them display the details of one or more type of fact, e.g. Census, Contact Info, Military, To Do Lis...
