Advantages of Family Historian
I have not used Legacy in anger although I did try the free version. FH has more extensive query and multimedia support and as you say more flexible diagrams. however it does not currently have register reports, but this is expected in a future release. Perhaps someone with more experience of Legacy...

You are not using the demo version by any chance are you?
That has all printing disabled.
Check the Help About option, if you are not sure.

Hi,
Fh does not 'do' websites its self, but because it uses GEDCOM, there are many packages some free some not which can produce web sites very easily from GEDCOM data. If you search for phpgedview in the search bx you will see a short article on geting gedcom data on to the web.

FTM to FH
Unless you want to take the opertunity to re-validate and check your sources there is no reason not to move the gedcom.
If you find large amounts of rejected data try the GEDFix for FTM on the downloads page. I moved my 2,500 people with not too much trouble.

I am not quite sure what you are looking for. You can select all people for summary reports by using the >> button on the reports selection screen.
Please can you tell us exactly what area you want to print out.

As a work around you could attach all your children to your current marriage as well as your earlier marriage. There is not reason not to as after all it is your family tree.
You can you the relationship option to show Step or whatever you require.

This is the answer posted to you question on the List I'm no expert David but I would suggest you create a record for mother add a child but give father (1st partner) no name and then add another partner/husband for mother - the child would then show as having a different father to husband. Hope you...

I put no surname in, using // to show FH there is no surname. So for example Rosemary Jane // I can then use queries to find people with a Null surname. PS I used to use the Unknown method in my previous software, but FH allows me to have a blank surname so much the better. PPS you can also use / to...

Deleting custom events/attributes
I passed this over to Simon at Calico who said Jane If you create a new custom event (imprisonment say), that event will appear in the list of events if and only if there is at least one Individual in the file (asssuming its an Individual custom event), who has an event of that type. If you delete ...

You can show pictures attached to sources on both the source report and on Family Group Sheets and Individual Summaries.
I have used the Source Report to send copy documents to people after changing the image size to fit right across the page.

Date of Birth
Is this on the reports and/or diagrams?
I presume on the Properties dialog and record window the detail still shows the full date.
You can configure the format of the date to show longer dates.
If you can detail where you want to change the information, more detailed instructions can be given.

Please don't stop posting. Everyone seems to have the same sorts of problems with starting with FH. It is a very powerful software and takes time to learn. Blank field titles in diagrams
I don't think you can in diagrams, unless you put the 'title' on a line on its own.
In reports you can print the title where data does not exist simply by changing the Show Hide field on each field to show even if empty.

If I have understood you correctly, what you need to do is select the family rather than the single person.
So on the records window go to yourself, press the + and select spouse family with 'wife' where it says with .. Then hit the diagram button.
