The screens provided by FH are very clear during the install, I only put the warning as many users will not actually read the messages, but just press the next buttons and take the defaults.
If you don't think the warning is needed I can take it down.

Re: creating a book
I would add that as a note to the facts or as a miscellaneous custom fact with note, so it can be included into the narrative timeline. Another option is add it as a note for the individual, which again will be included in a narrative report.

Re: New browser engine and file downloads
I suspect mileage will vary depending on the source.
BTW Did you realise you can drag and drop the downloaded files direct from the list at the bottom web window to the media tab at which point they get copied into your Project.

Re: FH 7.0.7 and Web 2 installer
As 7.0.6 was a minority release. I thought it was worth mentioning the Webview 2, as it is something the majority of people installing would not have seen and for people who don't want to use MS browsers they do now have the option to not install or use it at all.

That looks exactly as I would expect for a very narrow window. If you want to use an external browser, just check you have the correct settings in Tools>Preferences and don't bother with the Web window, or turn off your properties box.

Family Historian 7.0.7 Available for Download (Web Window Update)
7.0.7 is now available on Check for Updates for FH7 users. One of the highlights is the Edge based Web window. Please read through the install screens carefully when installing as it will install using the Microsoft Web 2 installer, if it's not already been installed by FH or another program on your...

Looking at Importing to Family Historian there does not seem to be anything major, but you can always try both and import each into different Projects on the trial

If you want to see all the plugins can't you use https://pluginstore.family-historian.co.uk/all-plugins
I assume it was not expected many people would try to use the plugin store on a tablet as you can't download or install anything. It looks to me like it's gone into "Phone" mode for your tablet.

Re: Problems upgrading to 7.05
There is normally no problem using the Check for Updates. I suspect if you left the creating directories a bit longer it would have resolved it's self. You can always try again using the option Mike has suggested, as the process and file used is identical. The install7 page will always have the curr...

Re: Importing from 'Generations'
It's likely the notes could be converted using a plugin, but over the years I have found different releases of generations have slightly different formats.
When the notes are exported to gedcom does it include markers in the notes for the location of the link?

I trick I use is "Edit>Find In Diagram" or CTRL-H to jump around. If you know the record Ids you can put them in and then press enter to jump to that bit of the diagram.

Re: 2021 Converted Icons
Just to clarify. Bitmaps as used in FH of any date will take the "transparency" from the top left pixel of the bitmap. Windows BMP files do not natively contain transparency. So any tool which converts BMP files to EMF will include the backgrounds as they are set in the file. So to get rid of the ba...

Another different option if you are making a list of sources to change you could simply save the result set as a named list and delete them from the list as you change them over.

The plugin did state it was only available for V5 and V6 so no 1.2 was not compatible.
I have uploaded 1.3, but please make sure you check it's work carefully and make a backup and/or snapshot first.

Family Historian 7.0.3 Available for download (Printing Fixes)
Last night Calico released 7.0.3 a free update for Family Historian 7 users, which fixes several problems with Printing and PDF printing, which were broken by a recent Windows 10 update. Re: V7 PDF creation very slow, creating huge files
As Mark says CP do a soft release so a version can be tested by a few people prior to hitting the "check for updates" option and updating the download link on the page.
If all goes well with the soft release I suspect the update will be generally available soon.

Re: Duplicate Media Records
Mike, that is NOT a bug, it is working as designed even if it's not ideal and a change for this should be a wish request not a bug report. Encouraging users to complain about minor problems will simply overload CP with trivial problems which can be sorted using a plugin easily enough. If you are not...
